In partnership with Scene city Moscow-based partner @klammklang, we are honoured to welcome in the framework of our @noodsradio residency Vlad Dobrovolski (@vladislav-dobrovolski), a multidisciplinary artist born in Omsk, Russia. Being born and grown up in Siberian city, Vlad collaborated with Japanese artists for several years. They gave him rejoice and passion for exploring both experimental electronics and traditional types of music, as well as tendency to mix them up. Vlad is known not only for his sound works, but also as a ​Cyland Audio Archive​ ex-curator. Among its vast array of experimental music releases ranging from Akira Rabelais to Nick Edwards. Apart from his own name Dobrovolski operates on quite a number of monikers and is involved in several other projects. He crafts mellow, introverted and bright techno under the Derski moniker and drowns us in nostalgic sunshine drones with Fitz Ellarald. He also takes part in the spaced-out synth trio kurvenschreiber, creates playful improvised soundscapes by manipulating lost tape artefacts in the S A D duo, participates in Las Kalugas and Piam.
His creative method for mixtapes is based on selecting songs that are similar in mood. Vlad wishes to transfer his experience from deep childhood via this mixtape. His parents left him alone with the record player. It is called Radiola (radiogram?). He played the collection of fairy-tales records and amuse himyself in this way when his parents were busy with their adult matters. These fairy tales records were very different in mood and content.
