Established in 2013 in the far eastside of downtown New York City, Zr. King is an explosive sonic collision of raucous rock'n'roll swagger, catchy melodies, relentless anthemic hooks, and a powerhouse live show. 

Brandon, Griffin and D-Pain served 15, 13 and 5 year tours, respectively, in noted NYC hard rock act Social Hero - cutting their teeth on the live scene, pressing a few records, and touring the eastern seaboard and midwest.  Matt was the lynchpin in one of NJ’s finest, The Minor Lift, writing and recording an arsenal of blistering tunes and delivering shattering performances on any stage that would have him. 

The band channels a diverse mix of their classic progenitors (Led Zeppelin, The Who), mid-nineties mammoths (Alice In Chains, Soundgarden) and contemporary rock monsters (Muse, Queens of the Stone Age). Currently hard at work on a growing arsenal of original material, a debut record is slated for late 2013 release, with live shows looming on the horizon.  

What would happen if Tom Waits wrote a rock opera and hired Keith Moon to play drums, John Paul Jones to play bass, Lemmy to play guitar, and Chris Cornell to sing?

It would sound like a boss.

And probably like a Zombie Robot King.

BIO:
The Spanish Channel is melodic powerpop -- catchy uptempo rock with harmony vocals, and lyrics that tell the stories of life in New York City. The band lives in Brooklyn, NY, and likes to rock the party, just like Foo Fighters, Weezer, Fountains of Wayne, The Cars, Maroon 5, Lit, and Ok Go. The Spanish Channel is: Bruce Hordon (drums, vocals), Tyler Phillips (bass, vocals), Jaime Garamella (lead vocals, guitar), and Lauren Stockner (lead guitar, vocals).

RECENT HIGHLIGHTS:
- Opening for Tim Reynolds & TR3 (of Dave Matthews Band)
- A sold-out NYC CD Release Show
- Winner in the Midas Rock The Highway national band contest
- A mention in the November 2010 issue of Spin Magazine
- A performance at Atlantic City's Caesar’s Palace
In addition, the band wrote and recorded the theme for the Federal Hockey League’s Danbury Whalers, and their new album has been receiving airplay on the Wesleyan University station WESU-FM as well as the Western Connecticut State University’s WXCI-FM. The Spanish Channel has performed live in-studio at both stations. The band is touring the eastern US in fall 2011.



Lights & Motion is the solo-project of Swedish composer Christoffer Franzén.
