Loop are excited to welcome electronic musician Zuke - aka Ed Zuccollo to the family with the release of his new single ‘Voyager’. The Wellington-based artist has built a cult-following in the underground electronic scene for his dynamic hybrid live/DJ sets and an ability to tell a story through music. The track is the first single taken from his upcoming debut album.

The single ‘Voyager’ is named after the twin NASA space probes launched in 1977 to explore the outer solar system. Onboard those crafts is a “Golden Record”, various greetings and recordings that tell the story of our planet, a message in a bottle tossed into the cosmic ocean. ‘Voyager’ includes the greeting “hello from the children of planet earth” - serving as an intro to the celestial sound that is Zuke.

Densely layered, uplifting and lush with big synth sounds, ‘Voyager’ showcases Zuke’s unique production style, combining vintage synths and analogue equipment. The release includes the Downtempo/Organic House remix by Sanoi & Zuke, which highlights the emotive elements of the original melody.

‘Voyager’ is the first single from Zuke’s his long awaited debut album, set for release late 2024. Elements of jungle, dubstep, downtempo, house, and ambient field recordings fuse together, creating a blend of melodic beauty and deep bass with a human touch. Over the next few months, Loop will release a series of singles, remixes, and alternate versions, showcasing the diversity of this artist.

An impromptu non-Burning Man set played on the night of the Man Burn for a few select friends in the midst of trees, crickets, and the Trinity River.

Nathan Haines presents a new remix of his track ‘Just Holdin’ On’, coming courtesy of one of NZ’s most sought-after producers, Christoph El Truento. Featuring the chopped-up hip-hop vocals from rapper Eo, the remix takes the track down a house route, while keeping the lo-fi hip-hop and jazzy vibes of the original.

Widely known for deep-diving into different genres, Christoph El Truento has gained acclaim locally and abroad for his unique takes on hip-hop, reggae, jazz, eletronica and ambient music. Classic Hits In A Reggae Groove presents the latest release from their upcoming album, a new imagining of Tanita Tikaram’s iconic track ‘Twist In My Sobriety’. Kingston Sound System have taken a re-recorded vocal from Tikaram and created a soulful reggae version of the classic.

A collection of Jamaica’s finest musicians, Kingston Sound System have taken the synth-driven original, and given it a new sun-soaked interpretation. The synths are replaced by horns and keys combining, with Tikaram’s breathy vocals perfectly complimenting the laid-back reggae instrumentation. It has been over a decade since the global electronica scene sampled its first Desert Dwellers remix. Synthesized from a menagerie of old-world acoustics infused with the pulsating beat of the electronic underground, it was these early re-visions of @desertdwellers' genre-melding music that would come to serve as a foundation for the duo's evolving relationship with the alchemical art of remixing, as exhibited by over 100 remixes of their style-defining tracks since the project first took shape in the late 1990s.
