Aidan P. Finnegan was born in 1997 in Long Island, New York, where as a youth he studied piano. From a young age, his teachers quickly discovered his natural ear for music when he would master songs just minutes after hearing them, and opted out of using sheet music. He became dissatisfied with conventional theory-based learning methods, and stopped taking lessons to teach himself. Soon after this, he became fascinated with experimental compositional methods, and his lifelong love for electronic sound synthesis, ambient soundscape creation and sound design was born. 

He found his principal teacher in Robert Frankenberg, who began mentoring him immediately following his High School Graduation. He began working alongside Frankenberg at Grave Gear Studios, contributing sound design and foley recordings to music produced for a wide range of clients. In April 2018, he was made a Partner in Grave Gear Studios alongside Tony Noto. 

He continues to bring an experimental and avant-garde edge to the Grave Gear catalog, with production methods combining improvisation, unorthodox recording styles and abstract concepts, coupled with his arsenal of Obscure Electronic Instruments and Vintage Keyboards and Synthesizers. This results in a unique contrast to Frankenberg’s more Symphonic and Atmospheric compositions, broadening Grave Gear Studios’ unique sound.

He currently resides in Kings Park, New York, just minutes from the famed former Kings Park Psychiatric Hospital.
