I made this mix as a reflection of what I’m playing out and about lately, with a focus on layering multiple tracks, long blends and carving out tension and release amongst the layers. It’s a mix of old and new, keeping things silky, finding tenderness in harshness, all different styles working in tandem, I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed making it


MARICAS n.84 - LUXE

Sleep D are a pair of Australian producers and DJ’s who also run the prolific record label Butter Sessions which has become a home to an array of artists including the likes of Jennifer Loveless, Hybrid Man, Ewan Jansen and more.

The label is rooted in underground club music and has been in operation for over ten years and has remained a consistent presence.

The pair themselves make music which sits somewhat between genres drawing upon elements of early trance, acid, downtempo, house and techno. It’s always raw and rugged, at times progressive in places but definitely rooted in clubland.

This mix is a stellar representation of the pairs musical outlook which is broad and fierce. It goes very deep and as such the length reflects the diversity and strength of narrative in the style of sets they tend to perform and play.

This one is a tour de force.

For years I’ve been toying with the idea of launching a mix series where I could share sets from some of my favourite artists past & present. A nod to the legendary soundcloud accounts & blogs that were pivotal to expanding my musical horizons throughout my youth

On the first edition I decided to take the reins and record a summer ready mix of tunes that could just as well soundtrack a gathering of friends or provide a midday boost at home or the office

Hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed digging for music and recording the mix at home

For the 40th episode of our Scheiß-mix series we‘re excited to present you our latest discovery from this year’s festival season: @FullMulti

During the early morning hours at Feel Festival we drifted onto the Wagenburg floor and encountered an emerging artist behind the decks, delivering a captivating vinyl-only set. With a refined sense for atmosphere, he lifted our vibe and carried us into a smooth, tribalish flow.

Afterwards we got in touch and learned that this was actually one of his very first vinyl sets. For that reason we asked him for the recording of the sets and here it is !
We’re excited to present you this New Face — keep an eye on him.

Usually known for his wild and eclectic house selections, Kasra V switches gears for us with a rare techno set. For the second year in a row, Vief Records is raising funds for Palestine Solidarity Campaign. Voted for by those involved in the project, Palestine Solidarity Campaign is a community of people working together for peace, equality, and justice. Together, they are the biggest organisation in the UK dedicated to securing Palestinian human rights.
 
Their crucial work involves placing pressure on the British Government, which despite a change in ruling party last year, has made no material effort to end its complicity in Israel’s genocide. Public opinion against Israel and its actions continues to grow– and this would not be possible without the tireless efforts of groups like Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
 
Vief’s compilation comprises 15 tracks from artists based across five continents, showcasing the very best the world of leftfield techno has to offer.
