Bjarki and In3dee, two innovative artists from Iceland, have just officially released their track "Virgin" on bbbbbb records. Both are known for their intricate compositions, often utilising avant-garde techniques that interweave contemporary sounds with elements inspired by historical music. The creative process for "Virgin" began uniquely: one day, Indridi, who goes by the moniker In3dee, woke up to find Bjarki wearing his clothes. As a playful twist, they swapped outfits and also switched roles in the studio - with Bjarki usually on the drums and Indridi on the keyboard. During the session, In3dee was inspired to add his vocals to a separate track Bjarki was working on. While listening to it, he sang the lines for "Virgin". The culmination of this spontaneous collaboration and role reversal is the enthralling track we now enjoy.

Derrière des nappes profondes et des ambiances fortes se cache le projet John Deere 420 du Quimpérois Nathan Berthelé. Fort de ses inspirations d'hier et d'aujourd'hui, il sème, à l'aide de son tracteur, des vibes Jungle, Trance ou encore Dub. Après deux EP sous son alias Nocho et de nombreuses tracks sorties sur des labels de la région (Tannhauser Gate, DLZ, Langoustine Records, Red Records..), ce Brestois d'adoption a su développer sa passion et la retranscrire dans sa musique. 
Ces 3 créations sont le fruit de ce qu'il considère comme indispensable : l'Émotion. 
Nous avons choisi la track "Why U Left ?" qui nous a séduit avec son ambiance très nostalgique, ses nappes et son break magnifique.

PREMIERE : John Deere 420 - Why U Left ? [DLZ Records]

Born and raised in the heart of the French Alps, and now residing in Paris, DJ Physical’s sound is one of a harsh romance. Perhaps it was the beauty and serenity of the snow-covered mountain tops and the ferocious nature of French techno moulding together that spawned his ‘Raw Poetry’ aesthetic; an emotive blend of dark and light that feels like it could belong in concert halls and theatres as well as underground sex clubs.

Following an outing on Lobster Theremin’s recent various artist fundraiser for Ukraine, and appearances on Rinse France and Running Out Of Steam, the Parisian local serves up five deadly cuts of brooding electro and techno.

‘Not So Human’ delivers the influence of trance on the contemporary techno soundscape, but doesn’t over-do it. Trance-licked, not dominated, the uncompromising cut of wave-driven techno is the perfect accompaniment for when you want to take things up a notch. ‘Sex Club’ maintains DJ Physicals’ fascination with ‘Raw Poetry’ - brimming with breaks-driven breakdowns, spine-tingling atmospherics and low-pressure basslines that highlight the variety of influence the emerging producer brings to the table.

Acid synth-lines and lively trance-inspo create an altogether lighter mood as we flip the record on ‘Mortal Dance’, before ‘Easy Dancer’ changes its tune altogether with a pounding cut of progressive, freaky electronica.

Closing the release is ‘Go Further’ - misty electro, Southern-trap samples and those distinctive, high-culture ambient interludes creating a sense of emotive mystery. A well-rounded release with plenty of left-turns, this is DJ Physical’s ‘Raw Poetry’ at its finest.

A 36-track compilation split into 3 parts, each consisting of 12 cuts, dedicated to the infamous We Are Not Alone event series and the best of Berlin’s underground techno talent.
BPitch and UFO Inc. creator Ellen Allien's innovative party series was launched in 2016 and remains committed to inviting an exciting crew of artists to perform at the 36 hour events, now in a new home at RSO.

The We Are Not Alone compilation features artists that have played at the parties, as well as those who will join the line-up for future events. The 4th, 5th and 6th parts include music by Ellen and established names such as Thomas P. Heckmann, Dollkraut, Francois X, Phase Fatale and Etapp Kyle. Rising stars Nene H, Nur Jaber, Stephanie Sykes, Wallis and Métaraph. BPitch signings including Rosa Anschütz, Shaleen, Matasism and Uncrat.

For this installment of the series, Ellen Allien collaborates with esteemed director and photographer Stini Roehrs for the multidisciplinary project ‘’AFTER DARK – Emotional States of Techno’’, consisting of a virtual rave film, book and exhibition produced by AKKURAT Studios, and the We Are Not Alone VA, which is to be released physically and digitally via BPitch.

Premiere: DJ Mell G - Juicy Beat [BPX022-PT5]

Yazzus follows up her appearance on the Tresor 30 compilation with a new EP named BLACK METROPOLIS. Within its, at times, rough-hewn textures lies a core that explores joy and energy within the roots of black techno. In her words: "I want this release to be black and beautiful, to be queer, and playful, a nostalgic nod to the 90s but also reimagining it in the current times."

The Ghana-born, London-bred, now Berlin-based producer's research into afro-futurism, envisaging a path forward for science, technology and culture through the black experience, has impressed a deep vision on this EP. Yazzus sets like a cartographer, using her tracks to explore a technologically advanced world, each representing different regions and environments.

Human Error Processor introduces an ear-worming percussion pattern nearly swamped by distorted bass drums and a vocal sample screwed just beyond recognition. Perforated leads with a 150bpm four to the floor stomp, infectious and supercharged. Gluey synth motions soak in an otherworldliness, where industrious, mechanical rhythms map out futurist structures in all directions.

Metro City Bay Area exhibits a ghettotech soul, lean and bouncy - this part of the galaxy is an infinite source of fun, with the heart of groove at its core. Three Deities brings adventurers of its region towards higher powers, its ravey synths and an engulfing bass provoke a complete NRG release, ascending into a spiritual trance where dense melodies bubble and fizz. Digital-only track United By Fate meddles busy vocal samples with searching melodies, a fitting end to the kaleidoscopic that is BLACK METROPOLIS.

Estella Boersma's new EP on Lobster Theremin, due for release  October 7th.  Estella serves up four assorted club cuts that perfectly exemplify the energy felt front-left at one of their sets.

The EP channels older XL recordings inspired sounds and warehouse energy like in 'The Wave', to more headsy numbers like 'Transfer' that sounds like something you might hear in a Chole Robinson set.
