London producer Slacker’s rise has been steady. First announcing himself to the scene with the flurry of wonderful SoundCloud uploads, the producer has since released on Lobster Theremin and his own co-owned Pseudonym Records, winning critical acclaim from publications such as Resident Advisor and Ransom Note, and support from fellow exciting up-and-comers such as Otik (on Midland’s InterGraded label) and tastemakers such as Berlin based selector CCL.

The title track is a hard cut of malfunctioning electro; frantic, screwface energy designed for small spaces with no windows, while ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ is a brooding, chugging cut of psychedelic dub-techno; something you might have heard Andrew Weatherall or David Holmes playing in the nineties. 

‘Mezcal’ sees the artist venture into newer, faster-paced territories as Slacker incorporates a Chicago juke aesthetic; sensationally bouncy, incredibly fun and captivatingly energetic, with just enough electro flavour for those who lack the ability to footwork to continue to dance. 

Rounding off the release is the most quintessential Slacker track on there - ‘Prototype’ - a cut of acid dipped, in-your-face electro; raw and uncompromising.

Also featuring on the record is digi-only track ‘Sacrifice of the Self’.
