Back to our mix series with this wonderful offering from Marijana Croon.  Originally from Belgrade but now based in Cologne, Marijana is a molecular biologist as well as a vibrant member of her local scene. In normal times she can be found DJing in places like Salon des Amateurs and Acephale and hosting her radio show 'Deflections' on Retreat Radio. 

Her Phase Group mix fuses otherworldly sound designs with echoing percussion pieces and slow dark club music for the twilight hours, futuristic synthesised environments dripping with reverb and long echoes inducing trance states and transcendence. Thanks Marijana!

Our society leads many of us on very weird paths, if it comes to manage our mental illness or personal crisis. It seems abnormal, pathologic and sick. The western mind has to be controlled in any circumstances. 

In the shamanic view, mental illness signals “the birth of a healer". Thus, mental disorders are spiritual emergencies, spiritual crises, and need to be regarded as such to aid the healer in being born. What those in the west view as mental illness, the Dagara people regard as “good news from the other world.” The person going through the crisis has been chosen as a medium for a message to the community that needs to be communicated from the spirit realm.

In the Dagara tradition, the community helps the person reconcile the energies of both worlds–“the world of the spirit that he or she is merged with, and the village and community.” That person is able then to serve as a bridge between the worlds and help the living with the information and healing they need. Thus, the spiritual crisis ends with the birth of another healer.

Various Artists - Five Years Lost (Continuous DJ-Mix by Mario Aureo)

The 13th mix in the H.H.A.S. series, and a special one indeed! This one comes from the mysterious Stockholm-duo Motormännen, who claims to make "information techno from a bygone Sweden, through a filter of retro-futuristic skepticism." The output smells of acid and pounding beats and also serves the purpose of delivering community information from the years 1976-1991. The videos that accompany their releases on Youtube are too an important part of their somewhat different but equally fantastic take on Swedish (all the vocal samples as well!) techno. The featured mix is their live set from The "Y+M presenterar: Noise01"-night, held Friday March 6th at Södra Teatern, Stockholm. Please enjoy, and get informed meanwhile.

Myself and DJ Three were honoured to be invited back to Japan by Labyrinth Festival promoters Russ &amp; Yasuyo Moench to provide the musical soundtrack to 'Exit The Labyrinth', a post event gathering of Labyrinth Festval attendees at the amazing Unit Club in Tokyo. 
We played the whole night, 3.5hrs each.
This is the recording of my set during the first part of the night.
As Labyrinth is a very special and unique Techno/House event with an understated yet ever present Psychedelic edge, I tried to refelect that with my track selection in this set.
