Sandor Jake (Born Alexander Jake McGuiness) is a guitarist-singer-songwriter. He is also a founding member of the original hard rock band The Troubled Clefs. He currently attends the Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine and writes/records in his "free time".

The friendship behind The Troubled Clefs is forged of more than just common musical interests. The guys have a long history and the book is still being written, or rather, composed. The Clefs' first foray into the studio in 2012 sparked a lifetime of interest and passion which will unite the guys even when thousands of miles separate them. Their second studio encounter in 2014 led to the timeless "Twice Forever" and showed the development and promise of the Clefs' unique take on classic rock and blues. These gentlemen are true American musicians, here to show you what's possible with a basement and a decade of passion.

Having surpassed 600 followers on SC I wanted to offer my sincere thanks to those of you who take the few minutes to listen and comment on my musical posts.  It is greatly appreciated!

I'm a songwriter, self taught musician and music lover of all genres.  I listen to a lot of Progressive and Alternative Rock, and explore many of the respective sub-genres.  I also listen to Indie artists, and I think some of the most creative stuff emerges there.  I am knowledgeable on the history of Rock and Pop music, even Jazz and Big Band.  I believe you will hear aspects of all these things in my music.  While I am a big fan of a number of artists, it’s songs that captivate me. The atmosphere created, the stories shared, and the emotions conveyed or evoked.

Songs really matter to me.
