Attic Edits is a three-track EP of light-hearted summer delights from Moiety & Manik. These two producers are no strangers, they’re kinfolk - part of the INI family. Both producers have appeared on our ‘De Gulden Snede’ Series and several other releases. In the heat of the summer between DJing and the countless demands of life, the duo found the time to collaborate and dusted of an old Johny Guitar Watson record. From there on several sessions took place forming the Attic Edits.

Here is a small project i have started re editing some old acid folk works.
My first experiment here is with a track called "Lord & Master" by a band called "Heron".
The simple lyrics about nature and the changing seasons combined with the charming melodies really struck a chord with me when I first heard it.

The Daisy Project - Do It Better (Lelewel Remix)

Seeing that I just completed the Slimkid3 & Nu-Mark collaboration, I thought it was appropriate to assemble a mix that highlights both Jurassic 5 and Pharcyde at their best. I dug deep in the vaults and uncovered some never before heard multi tracks, unreleased songs and acapellas from old tapes that needed to see the light of day. This is how I’d like to see all 8 MCs from both groups trade the mic. Enjoy!

Cumbia Sobre El Mar - Quantic & Flowering Inferno

"Old folk wine" is an ongoing experiment where I delve into the past. Taking folk music from the Uk and creating something new with it. 
As this is ongoing I decided to change the compilation title to "Old Folk wine" after the second track I worked on called "old boot wine". It was the first title I came up with and I didn't use it for whatever reason but I changed my mind so there you go ;) 
Seasons was inspired by the book "Seasons they change" by Jeanette Leach, something im reading right now about the whole acid folk movement... 
I spent more time than usual working on the cover for this. Experimenting with my gimp skills (that being a piece of software called gimp similar to photoshop ;) enjoy!

Outernational bass music nomad Filastine ups the ante with £00T. Fractured post-dubstep beat innovations support delicate string arrangements. Overdriven bass synths battle pentatonic gong patterns. Listen closely and listen loud.
Looting from the coffers of hip-hop, moombahton, dubstep and cumbia, Filastine keeps the bass pressure pumping and drums up front. But any similarity to club music genres ends quickly. While a growing tropical bass movement hypes a pan-global dance party, Filastine blazes a different path. Intricate polyrhythms, muted balkan trumpets, ephem- eral soundscapes, and unique vocal contributions push this album off the known map into uncharted musical territory.
Introduction No Step will test your speakers for the album that follows. Gendjer2 and Colony Collapse are the fruit of a tight collaboration with Indonesian indy rapper Nova. She contributes lush 60’s R&B harmonies and megaphone-filtered rhymes. Filastine’s time in Asia also brings a featuring from Japan’s chief rap dadaist ECD. In Lost Report hear him shouting against nuclear contamination over a dirty bass hook and the stuttered clicks of a geiger counter. These onsite collaborations were recorded everywhere from ware- houses to rainforests, then painstakingly mixed over the course of 2011 in a rooftop studio in the muslim quarter of Barcelona, with breaks to participate in the Spanish uprisings of last year.
Throughout the album Filastine leverages rhythmic expertise that he’s gathered far and wide, from the tiny Moroccan village of Jajouka to the coke-fueled parades of Rio de Janeiro. Echoes of Filastine’s old marching band, the Infernal Noise Brigade, propel the drum corp juke of Circulate False Notes and the glitch-crunk of Skirmish. Even Filastine’s years as a taxi driver are audible in the field recordings of radio static, street noises and polyglot collages.
£00T comes with a grip of videos and graphics that riff on concepts from the Arab spring to ecological and financial collapse. With a CD design doubling as utopian money, the album launches alongside a currency for a near-future network of clandestine floating cities.

Brighton based 2econd Class Citizen makes folk music for the digital age. Sometimes psychedelic, often complex and always moving, his sound is hard to define but easy to fall in love with. 

With a series of critically acclaimed releases garnering praise from luminaries such as Ninja Tune legend DJ Food (who went so far as to invite him to collaborate on a track for his own album),  2econd Class Citizen’s music has long been astounding listeners in all corners of the globe. Cementing the affection of his loyal following through frequent European Tours and remixes for artists such as The Herbaliser, Dj Food & Dday One. His new record A Hall of Mirrors, on Dday One’s US label Content Records, is his most accomplished music to date… 

Produced and recorded in the disparate locations of his hometown of Brighton (UK) and Innsbruck (Austria), it features collaborations with a succession of underground heroes such as Mykah 9 (Freestyle Fellowship),  Canadian singer Graciellita and Bobbie Watson from psych folk legends Comus. In addition it features an array of talented Austrian and Uk musicians on Piano, Cello, Violin and guitar… 
The album builds on his trademark sound - lush instrumentation, dusty break-beats and shimmering melodies that veer from ethereal to menacing with surprising deftness. 

A Hall of Mirrors is the latest instalment in a distinguished career spanning over a decade. Highlights include his astonishing debut album A World Without, released on DJ Scientist’s Equinox Records (Berlin) featuring singer/songwriter Ceschi Ramos from the US and rapper/wordsmith James Reindeer. A Gate-fold 12” vinyl release of his second album The Small Minority followed, and an array of EP’s, limited edition vinyl postcards and digital releases such as his ongoing “Old Folk Wine” series of psych-folk re edits. 

In his live sets 2econd Class Citizen recreates the complexity and depth of orchestration he has become known for, using sound editing software, live drumming and scratching to keep a strong improvisational aspect, and often embellishing performances with the introduction of guest musicians and vocalists. 

In addition to frequent European Tours with the likes of Ceschi, Glen Porter & Buddy Peace he has performed at festivals including Glastonbury and Soundwave (Croatia), sharing stages with the likes of Hidden Orchestra, Buck 65, B Dolan, Dj Food, Loka, Dosh, The Q4, Gong and many more.
