Next up for the Pod is Bakongo, this one's a segment of when we welcomed him down to Patterns for a socially distanced gig. We were kinda skeptical about it, but Bakongo brought it down & delivered an absolutely wikkkid set that had everyone bouncing (on their seats) 
30 min slice of all things drums,  with a uk funky flavour throughout, big ups to Bakongo.

AM: What you been up to recently man? 

Nothing crazy, decorating my new place also holding down my monthly radio show on 1020 Radio 3rd Thursday of the Month 10pm



AM: We loved the recent 2 tracker for Trule, what was the inspiration for your alias Bakongo? 

I started it same time I started the Roska material and the Roska project took off immediately. I continued to put out EPs under Bakongo but not much focus on it. Now it seems to have more interest which is good. It gives me time to relax on the Roska project and mix it up every so often.



AM: The mix was obviously recorded live at Patts, how did ya find playing to a distanced crowd? 

It was better than I expected, I was a bit sceptical about everyone sitting down but you could feel the energy from everyone eager to get up out their seat and really take in the music.



AM: What have ya been listening to recently? Who’s grabbing your attention at the mo?

I’ve been enjoying LSDXOXO’s material quite a lot, Polo’s new music also LR Groove and Razzler Man project under Tribal Brothers.


AM: What’s next for you in 2021? 

 Just continue where I left off. Working on some new material to put out later this year.
