Came the day when I decided to put the album in the public domain "Not only silence between us", which lay on the shelf for about 2 years. This work for me was as a ground for today's product that I've created and continues to create. In  the album I used some fragments and vocal performance from artists such as: Rashid Bhikha, Ibrahim Maalouf, Ircan Irmak, Keith Jarrett, Frédéric Chopin, Vera Hall, LaShun Pace. 

Special thanks to modern abstract expressionist painter Alexey Kuznetsov for the cover art for the album.

Tuğçe Kurtiş - İstanbul'a

Colorhythm returns to Modern Ruin with a darker take on his unique sound.

A no-nonsense start to the release with 'Lavina' takes us into a different
side to Colorhythm's production - a gritty and techy roller switching seamlessly
between halftime and triplet grooves.

Title track 'Fission' starts off with a deliberate intro sequence that funnels into
what might be the footwork soundtrack of a nuclear reactor. Percussion is the
standout as Colorhythm plays with shakers, hats and almost breakbeat sounds
to create a cloudy and moody soundscape.

'Bionic' is the no-holds-barred successor to 'Fission'. Growling synthesizers
amidst tension inducing melodic progressions make for a compelling antithesis
to the title track. 

Another Modern Ruin favourite, Stayhigh, rounds up this release with a remix 
of 'Bionic'. Chopped vocals and typical footwork triplets smartly intertwine
with the initial groove and vibe of 'Bionic' while emphasizing the urgent and
frantic nature of footwork, creating a pleasing sonic crescendo.

The deep house focussed Kindisch label starts off 2018 with a terrific nine track album from the Art of Life duo.

Art of Life is the pairing of Oleg Makovskiy and Paul Twins, a pair based in Odessa and Cheboksary. This is their first significant project and, given that little else is known about them, it does all their talking for them. Across the nine tracks, they explore tender
and emotive house music for the late-night hours, suggesting they are sensitive, thoughtful souls with a knack for delicate grooves.

The title track kicks things off in moody fashion, with spacious drums slowly churning beneath heavy, sombre chords. It’s an immediately alluring opener, while ‘Deception of Devil’ keeps up the rather eerie vibes with organic percussion and long drones,
distant horn calls and an unsettling atmosphere.

The gorgeous ‘Lift Up Your Eyes’ is less dark, with optimistic chords and slowly tumbling drums overlaid with a spoken word snippet that is exotic and mysterious. It’s an ambient track with only the most subtle sense of propulsion, as is ‘He Is Behind
Your Eyes.’ Synths are allowed to ring out into the night as weighty drums rotate below and plucked strings hang in the air.

The second half of this excellent album stays resolutely sparse, but ‘Disagreement’ gets more upbeat thanks to the kicks below and wonky, whirring synths up top. Carrying on in an impossibly deep vein, ‘Dream Together’ is perfectly horizontal and plaintive, ‘A Lone Flower’ has a sense of menace and unease in the dark vocal
whispers and brooding bass and ‘Our Life Is A Spark’ and ‘Girl in Black’ close things out with more dubby drums, loose clicks and unhurried house grooves.

This is a brilliantly coherent album made for close listening, but it will also offer more intimate dance floors plenty of goodness.

"The basic Idea for this Track came to me during my time in Colombia last year. I had an Artist Residency in a wonderful place in the middle of the Jungle of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta - an area which the indigenous people call the heart of the world - 

I was playing music every day and giving cacao ceremonies for the guests of the Resort and in my free Time i was producing  inspired by the lush, abundant,  colourful and peaceful Environment. One day i discovered Aris Art in the Internet and some of her Images and collages spoke to me on a deep Level. Inspired by the Magic of Aris Artwork, the Spirit of cacao and the cacophony of the colombian Jungle started Working on a Track and called the Project "Ari". I had a good Feeling about the Sketch but somehow i did not start with the Arrangement until i was back in Germany. Last Summer i was looking through some older projects and rediscovered the Project for this Track. So i felt inspired again to finish it and i am super happy with it. Its one of my favourite Tracks and when we played it live Maywa was always laughing like a child and i really loved the innocent and joyful energy of that and so we decided to record a Version with the laughing and thats the Version which is is now beeing released. Alaix Pulse wrote to me cause he listened to the Track in one of our Podcasts and He said he loves the Track and was offering to make a remix. Since i like his style and productions i send him the stems and He came up with this wonderful rework. You can feel the Love and Care he put into the Track in every bar. And i was surprised and deeply touched that he added a beautiful recording of German poem while being french and not understanding a single Word of it. The poem adds another layer of Beauty and depth to the original while maintaining the joyful peaceful and sweet vibe of the original.

And Im super happy to have this Track released on Echoes. Cause for me it has become a Home and Family the people working for Echoes are all wonderful Beings and dear Friends who put a lot of Passion, Love and Energy into their Work.

And their Events have been so magical, inspiring and nurturing for me that im happy to give sth back that reflects the beauty of the Spirit of Echoes from Venus."

"SOS - Save our Souls!" This was the idea behind something that started in 1997 and that goes on until today: The SOS party series! A party made by friends for friends - back then, just like today.The strong emotions of these long-year friendships set the keynote for the sound of this compilation, which celebrates the 20th anniversary. It's remixes made by friends for friends. Their sound has been influenced by the SOS parties, and at the same time their sound has inspired us - just like this collection of music will do in the future. The sound of a party that has been going on for 20 years.
