Alex Metric & Ten Ven’s „Transmission 1“ is their first release on Diynamic, although their productions are not unheard of in the label’s orbit as Solomun has been supporting them heavily in his sets throughout recent months.

Opening track “The Q”, much like the closing track “Plates”, are reminiscent of old UK garage raves with a hint of acid. Minuscule shifts in the pitch give that certain cassette-nostalgia, transporting the listener back to the early 90s.

The centre piece titled “Nebula” is a driving melodic deep house tune with a hefty break that brings things to a halt right at its centre, only to return with the catchy riff that is its main feature.

An exquisite female vocal is filtered and looped to bring a painful sense of soul that really finishes the track in style.The equally unusual yet compelling ‘Calisi’ is a mix of thunderous synths and gentle piano notes that build the suspense to the point of rapture before the drums carry you away on an intriguing groove.Lastly, the excellent ‘Wooden’ is a perfectly loose, jumbled groove with cosmic synths panning about the track. It’s dynamic and restless and brings a unique sense of energy to the club.All in all these are three brilliantly inventive new tracks that will inject any set with real house freshness
