May 2014 we released Of Norway's debut album  “Accretion“, a musical journey which showcased the Norwegian duo's creativity and ability to create music on the border between songwriting and club music. “Spirit Lights“ was one of the highlights of the album and will be now the kick-off for the „Accretion“ remix series. The original is a long and hypnotizing deep-house jam in the vein of Atjazz or Charles Webster. A true beauty, ennobled for example by Ten Walls by including it in his mind blowing BBC One Essential Mix last summer. “Spirit Lights” was co-written and completed with the amazing lyrics and vocals of Linnea Dale, well known in Norway for her collaboration with the band Donkeyboy and the resulting two No 1 single charts positions of the titles „Ambitions“ and „Somedays“. Furthermore in 2014 she was the representative act for her country at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Italy's up and coming Lehar, who bestowed upon us his “Sargas EP” one of our most successful releases in 2014, created such a mystical and alluring tune with his interpretation, that it quickly ended up as regular in the sets of Mano Le Tough and Adriatique, just to name a few. This created such a buzz, that his remix has already reached No 13 of the last Groove Mag 50 charts, without having started any promo yet. Things can't get more promising.

Due to Adriatique's massive support, it was obvious for us to ask the Diynamic act to do the second remix. As was to be expected, the two Swiss also had a lucky hand at the remix and turned the original into a true beauty, a version literally begging for summer and beach. A true open-air guarantor.

Spirit Lights Remixes

A Of Norway Feat. Linnea Dale - Spirit Lights (Adriatique Remix) (Snippet)

"Proteus" serves as our first introduction to Monto, an Ireland-based newbie with a love for braiding hip hop, jazz and grime into cosmic, brain whirring instrumentals. A truly extraterrestrial entrant, “Proteus” slinks in with drumless, stretched-out rapper ad-libs for the first minute or two. Skittering hi-hats and percussion duly join the party soon after, but its the bout of otherworldly pads that really earn this track its stripes.

It’ll find a home on SertOne’s Liverpool based imprint, Fly High Society, which also houses the likes of Iglooghost, Tehbis and Almighty Sion. Keep your eyes peeled for its release both digitally and on cassette (tape & digital, with a few bonus tracks tape only) in March.

Colleen, aka Cécile Schott, is really one of those artists where if you know, you know. Her run of albums from 2003-2007, mostly on The Leaf Label presented an exquisite set of dream-worlds, where you could easily drift away on her loops of cellos, bells, flutes and musical boxes. But then a six-year hiatus from the music world made it almost seem like it HAD been a dream. However, she returned with The Weighing of the Heart in 2013, easily up there with her very best work - and now, teamed up with Thrill Jockey, she's showing that she's stronger than ever. This is the first track from her Captain of None album coming on April 7th, and damn, it's beautiful.
