French composer Worakls finds his way back to the Hungry Music imprint, after recently releasing the “Adagio For Square” smash hit on Pete Tong’s FFRR Records. Worakls is currently breaking new ground with his trademark sound - fusing live musical elements with cutting edge electronic music production skills. His latest adventure is named “Question Réponse”, a dramatic piece of modern dance music, featuring blaring horns, an incredible romantic string section as well as arpeggiated synth layers to provide enormous drive. The thick rolling bassline and thumping groove glue together this masterpiece in perfect style. 

On the flip side resides the equally breathtaking “From Now On” piece. Worakls focuses on a marching & moody feel, before breaking the track down, to only feature the gorgeously crafted strings and horns. He once again brings together the classical and dance worlds in an inimitable way, so they can flourish on dancefloors worldwide as well as everywhere else!

Mollono.Bass & AVA Asante - Turn A Light On - snippet

Three years after he debuted on the label, Finnish DJ and producer Sasse is back with another expertly crafted new track that comes with an interesting remix by Lehar. 

Working under many aliases, the man born Klas-Henrik Lindblad has done it all, but as Sasse has been making connoisseur deep house music for 20 years now. The label he runs, Moodmusic, has also been setting underground standards for the same length of time. In both EP and LP format, Sasse knows how to cook up palpable moods and grooves and does so again to perfection for Canadian label My Favorite Robot. 

His typically standout effort here is ‘Ani,’ almost ten minutes of brooding and heady house music that has rolling drums setting the tone below as expansive synths smear and skew about in the wide open spaces above. There are shades of Vangelis and a subtle dose of prog in the overall vibe, but circling synth patterns add a sense of hypnosis that make it pure dancing music. Serene and spaced out, it is a masterclass in suspense. 

As well as a more driven and tense dub version, Lehar provides the stellar remix here. The Italian producer is a restless spirit who has released his melodically rich music on labels like Moodmusic, 2DIY4 and Diynamic before now. Here he layers in more of his trademark chord progressions and rippling keys and has you arching your neck to the suggested skies above as you wallow in his cavernous groove. 

Each of these cuts are poignant affairs that will provide moments of real emotion on any dance floor.

Spring 2016 saw the release of Stimming’s fourth full length album “Alpe Lusia”, which was named after a remote little alpine hut in northern Italy, in which he had secluded himself to work on his LP for a full month, all by himself. From the title track of his LP emanates his following release on Diynamic, the Alpe Lusia Remixes, and the remixing protagonists are none other than Robag Wruhme, long time collaborateurs Acid Pauli & NU and last but not least Solomun.

First off is Pampa mainstay Robag Wruhme, whose take on Stimming’s “Alpe Lusia” starts off as a dark and brooding tech house gem. Later, when you have made your way through its rough outer shell, peeling off the hard claps, it shows its soft core, with gentle pads caressing the arrangement.

Acid Pauli & NU deliver a deep and driving, almost haunting reinterpretation of “Alpe Lusia", with a thumping bass and ethereal vocals that are hypnotizing.

Finally, Solomun adds a remix that reminds you of the rabbit hole in Alice's Wonderland: the longer you dig, the deeper you get, and the more fantastic is what you experienece.

The original version is the only track on the album without a real groove, which is why Stimming chose precisely this track to be remixed - to see what the others would do about that. Now it is fair to say that all three remixes have succeeded at this task.
