Revered production duo Italoboyz are to kick off their 2014 with the release of a two-track, stellar EP 'La Ondasa’, also featuring bonus remixes from G Man and Nicone & Sascha Braemer on Davide Squillace’s infamous This and That label.
With hard-edged techno rhythms, chopped vocals and bags full of dance floor groove, 'Afrodite' rolls along at electric pace. Intermittent synth line running throughout. Precision-engineered and purpose built for the clubs, these are another tracks that should earmark Italoboyz as go-to names for the best in slick, tech-house club sounds.
Since arriving in London at the beginning of the new millennium, Italoboyz, aka Marco Donato and Federico Marton, have become an essential fixture of the capital’s passionate house/techno/minimal scene. This and That Lab is a think tank, created and curated by Davide Squillace that combines music, art and culture and blends them all in one, a label that acts as a platform for Davide and other like minded artists to develop creative projects. Look out for more releases on the label to come throughout the year and some exciting This and That projects in the pipeline.

In the space of just four years and little over 20 releases, Hamburg’s JEUDI Records has established itself as one of the foremost imprints in the world of melodic deep and tech house music. Born from the weekly club night of the same name taking place at their hometown venue Baalsaal (on the infamous Reeperbahn), it’s a label which focuses on quality over quantity, and has showcased music from the likes of Doctor Dru, Adana Twins, Turntablerocker, Sidney Charles and Monte in its short but acclaimed history. House Of Disco are back in full swing after a short hiatus, building on their pedigree that has brought the world music from the likes of Finnebassen, EJECA and Volta Cab over the past two years. House Of Jeudi makes for a seriously moreish listen, full to the brim of incredibly consistent and charismatic dancefloor delights - with each label picking six tracks. JEUDI’s selection takes us from the moody Reese basslines of Danito & Athina’s Harmony Baby, to Sean Roman’s contemplative I Find Myself and the spooky depths of Camelphat’s 360, while House Of Disco journey through the skippy funk of Roberto Rodriguez’s North Step, HNNY’s delicate Oma Doris, and the slinky disco of LeSale’s Fit Trucker.

Suited just as well to the home stereo as to the dancefloor, it’s an engrossing compilation that’s got plenty to offer for DJs and casual listeners alike, and looks set to cement both labels incredibly solid reps even further.
