JPattersson and Constantijn Lange team up for their first appearance on Heimlich Musik, delivering the 25th EP with remix contributions by Bonfante and Roderic. Nightshades is the result of a collaboration between JPattersson and Constantijn Lange that started with an accidental encounter at the airport. Staying in touch ever since, they soon met at Constantijn’s studio where their first creative collaboration was created. The outcome of an intense studio session is a composition combining sophisticated sound design based on vintage synthesizers, beats formed of organic percussions, and ambience atmos with a pinch of trumpet recordings. Bonfante’s interpretation picks up the arpeggio lines and puts the focus on the trumpet while Roderic’s arrangement is a rising banger with eclectic melodies, hypnotic pads, and dystopian lead synths. The Nightshades EP is the versatile result of the collaborative effort of four artists adding their personal touch to the productions while sticking to the concept of the EP as a whole.

With the season well underway, Get Physical is hitting the ground running with the 18th edition of Full Body Workout. If case you’ve been living under a rock the last decade, Full Body Workout aims to shine a spotlight on some of the hottest rising and established talent for their take on where the scene is now, and where it might be headed. So finding tracks by visionaries like Pezzner, NIBC and Nils Hoffman shouldn’t come as a surprise. The compilation opens with a floor-moving tech-house groove from Supernova to set everything into motion. Quickly following is Pezzner with ‘Julie’, a small shift down in energy initially, only to rise to peak time levels over the course of the track. Eagles & Butterflies then shakes down the floor with a percussion driven beauty, ‘Awakening’. Nils Hoffman up next. The young German producer delivers a stunning track full of bass swells and calls it ‘Storms’. Hold out for the elegant piano lines in the break, a brilliant contrast to the dark and heavy bass surrounding it. Now we’ve reached the halfway point, and we don’t want to spoil the surprises to come from the likes of NIBC, Kevin Yost (who’s skillfully pulled of the continuous mix here as well), Savvas Ysatis & Olga Kouklaki, P41, Hawie and Ilona Maras, Sanja feat. Sutja Gutierrez.

Celebrating all the things music can say that words can’t, we joyfully present the fourth installment of the ‘Words Don’t Come Easy’ compilation.  Sixteen tracks in total, from WhoMadeWho to Blunted Dummies, we’ve gathered a selection that speaks for itself. M.A.N.D.Y.’s ‘Higher and Lower’ remix of WhoMadeWho’s ‘Hi & Low’ opens the package. Tomas Høffding’s vocals spread out, setting a warm tone for the compilation. The next track is a brand new exclusive, Savvas Ysatis & Olga Kouklaki’s tech-house burner, ‘Big Fish Fight’. Managing the energy well the track rides a lower, but consistent vibe, swirling and dipping throughout. Of course, that’s only the first two tracks. We’ve got plenty more to go. Loco Dice’s ‘Kliptown Love’ remix of Black Coffee’s vocal hit ‘Buya’ featuring the stunning vocal talents of Toshi is included, and J.U.D.G.E. makes no less than two appearances, once with Noir in ‘Messiah’ and again in Henry Saiz’s remix of Eagles & Butterflies somber masterpiece ‘We Get High’. With so many more beautiful like this tracks inside, don’t put it in words, say it with music.

A small spirit is lured by the vibrant sounds of an archaic ritual, that takes place where once a great deluge cleared the lands. Drudging over and under layers of ancient roots and sunken treetops it makes its way through the thick undergrowth. Its primordial senses pick up intoxicating gases that seep upward while nearby bare feet get sucked rhythmically into the soft wet grounds of a great Quagmire. The sound of thick skinned drums being beaten by hands that lived multiple lifetimes resonates through the backwoods. All amplified by plants once deemed poisonous by the intruders that left this place long ago, now revered by humans and animals alike, to connect with a deeper sense of their own cosmic identity.

The fourth compilation released by Heimlich Musik consists of 15 tracks showing the broadest range of all compilations so far. With the idea to represent the whole musical spectrum that Heimlich stands for, the label sticks to combining newcomers, old and new friends as well as well-established artists. Daniel Steinfels starts off an episode of trippy elements followed by tracks from artists such as Arutani and Hobta, just to name a few, who pick up this idea of spacy synth elements. The first psychedelic episode is followed by rather organic interpretations from artists such as Ulisses, Xique-Xique and many more that drive the compilation to South America and right back again without forgetting about the latest Disco-ish side of the Heimlich imprint featuring a track by the infamous Janefondas. El Remolon is completing the journey by finishing it with a piece that is keeping up the trippy first part while including elements influenced by Regaton and Cumbia.
