Généalogie

Le projet 3LIA naît au Québec de la rencontre entre la folk épurée, intransigeante d’Elia Cohen et de la scène Jazz/hip-hop de Montréal. De retour en France, Elia Cohen entreprend la composition d’un répertoire original aux frontières du storytelling et de l’expérience mystique. Inspirée autant de musiques rituelles (Gospel et chant hébraïques) que de Neo-Soul, la musique d’3LIA accomplit le mariage de l’organique et du numérique, jouant sur des instruments acoustiques (cajon, contrebasse, guitare percussive) des rythmes habituellement réservés aux BeatMakers nord américains. 

ADN et influences

Si, sur le fond, les textes d’Elia Cohen s’inspirent de poètes chanteurs, (Léonard Cohen, Nick Drake, Tom Waits), le projet 3LIA les habille de sonorités modernes empruntées aussi bien au vocabulaire de Nujabes qu’à celui de Woodkid. Le résultat est une musique épique et sensible où l’on aime à se perdre pour mieux se rencontrer. 

L’avaleur de miroirs

Nourris de musique folk et bercés de poésie, les textes d’3lia tendent à replacer la musique au cœur d’un questionnement existentiel. Armé de ses seuls mots, 3LIA part en quête de sens, et se fait voix d’une génération qui se cherche, entre l’avant et l’après, entre la vitesse du monde et la lenteur de l’âme. 3LIA échange, parle avec son public, partageant avec lui les images qui l’animent et l’habitent, saupoudrant d’humour et de chaleur humaine la recherche, souvent solitaire, de paix intérieure. Chaque chanson devenant le miroir d’un fragment d’humanité, autant d’invitations au voyage dans les coulisses du monde extérieur.
