Playground Records is pleased to present “Swing Ride”, the 38th’s label reference by a dear friend of the house, the mighty Roe Deers. Almost two years after ‘Lazer in the Jungle’, his first vinyl release on Playground Records' catalogue, and with a bunch of hot releases on labels like Turbo Recordings and Futureboogie under his arm, the Lithuanian maverick is back with a brand new EP. The package features a variety of vibes ranging from club-ready tracks to psychedelic rollers. On the remix side, Multi Culti’s boss Thomas Von Party delivers a twisted narcotic version of ‘Swing Ride’, meanwhile Mexican geek ALF CHAMPION turns ‘Glass Around’ toward a dub-experimental mix.

Espacio Cielo, Golden Soul, Roam, Logical, NUFF MUSIC… it’s undeniable that the string of solid appearances on some of the most influential imprints amid the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene has put Madrid-based producer Rams on the shelf of “Spanish Artists To Watch”. With a distinguished sonority that skilfully combines Disco, Italo Disco, EBM, Industrial, and Techno, Rams fails to disappoint when it comes to delivering high-quality darkness-infused cuts – no fluffy or melodic stuff here, I’m afraid.

For his return to Espacio, the madrileño virtuoso brings to life “Envuelta” EP, a pure-blood single that comes with four cutting-throat remixes made with love by Pumuki, Ivan De La Rouch (FREEDL022/032), Chas, and Teemon & Poomba.

Premiered here, the original relays its message as if it were telling a story: In the introduction, the groovy and percussive drums are progressively overlapped by rhythmic elements that, together, prepare us for the next chapter, a chapter seized by acid and trippiness, intensity and furore. And then, abruptly, the conclusion: a moment in which calmness and serenity prevail. A plot extremely worth to be danced to.

However you know Teniente Castillo, you will only know good things. Whether you know the producer of slow and deliberate chunky techno, the label boss of Play Pal music, or whether you just know him as Fernando Pineda, the all round good guy! His Turn for the first compilation from the Sinchi Collective is as you would expect from such a talent, with live instrumentation, snappy snares and a bassline through dancefloors like a chainsaw.
The Sinchi Collective have long been synonymous with quality dance music while putting their name and their efforts to worthwhile causes, being at the helm of a long running podcast where they showcase their friends and most recently setting up a label of the same name. 
As well as turning in a mix which is out imminently, Mr Castillo has kindly contributed to the first Sinchi compilation, and it truly is firing on all cylinders, living up to the name ‘Altered States’. 
Make no mistake, the Ombra, Play Pal and Relish producer makes it clear that it is all about the music, but at the same time, It’s clear that Personality goes a long way.

Exclusive: Dreems - Shark Water (Die Orangen Remix)

One half of Multi Culti, Dreems, leaves his home port in order to swim through Shark Waters and berth on V's Le Temps Perdu label. The latest five tracker on the Lithuanian imprint is already the second outing of Dreems, after Charcoals in 2016, on the labels and takes the vibe from the now four year old release up but – of course – appears in a different light. For the EP's title track Dreems teams up with Kris Baha under their Die Orangen pseudonym and deliver what they call a “groove on a sort of Shoe-Gaze-Funk-e-Industralia rendition“ or the experience of riding a cosmic wave into the blue hour … into the ocean while being chased by people in boats with carbon paddles that cut furiously yet rhythmically through it. And just when you think you're safe a shark fin appears and the chase continues. Die Orangen re-treat of Shark Waters keeps you moving, pushes you forward, gives you rest and never lets you go – too precise or sharp are those claps as they drift over a lush bass line and float you out into the deep sea.
