Chisel and Monika join forces on the flip side of the release, with “Hold it Down” providing a lighter tone to the release. Lush pads and soft soundscapes form a playful melody hopeful in tone, complimented excellently with subdued bass design, giving the track slightly deeper undertones. “Hold it Down” is a beautiful yet moody combination of the renowned liquid sound of Monika and staple darker vibe from Chisel.


About Chisel
NZ’s Chisel is an emerging DnB DJ & Producer who draws on a variety of influences within the 170+ spectrum ranging from Soulful Liquid to Deep Minimal and Jungle. Carving out his own sound saw 2021 secure his first solo release with SBK Recordings with more in the works. He has gone on to perform at multiple festivals and club nights both individually, and as part of the duo Formatics, where he continues to host a weekly show on RDU 98.5 FM.

About Hound
Deeply educated as a DnB DJ and Producer, NZ’s Hound specialises in Deep and Minimalistic sounds of underground DnB to stack up releasesSBK, Australian Outlet, Plasma Audio and UK’s own Four Corners Music. Hound is now well underway in finding his home in the underground Drum and Bass landscape. 

About Raygun
Immersed on the scene since 2006, Raygun provides vocal support for the likes of LTJ Bukem, Randall, Break, DJ Marky, Alix Perez, Om Unit, Youngsta to name just a few with releases on Flexout Audio, Proximity Recordings, Cyberfunk, Ram Records+++  after linking up with Brighton based rapper Influx. Touring extensivelys, Raygun supported the likes of Grandmaster Flash, Foreign Beggars, Devlin+++ with appearances at festivals like NASS and Outlook having further international status playing shows from the shores of Croatia to the jungles of Costa Rica.

About MONIKA
Racking up releases on Soulvent Records, Shogun Audio, and Fokuz Records, MONIKA boasts an impressive catalogue of moods ranging from atmospheric liquid beats to techy dancefloor rollers and runs weekly LX DnB show on RDU FM and Flux to showcase the best bits from across the scene and beyond. As Monika keeps progressing onwards and upwards on his musical journey, he sets out to melt hearts and minds on the dnb dance floor.

Subsonance is a bass music producer and DJ with over a decade of experience crafting hard-hitting, emotionally resonant soundscapes. After ten years of exploring music production, Subsonance is now stepping forward with renewed focus—launching a personal brand aimed at pushing sonic boundaries and building a platform that uplifts the next generation of artists.

Having studied DJing and studio music production, Subsonance brings both technical expertise and raw creative energy to every project. With hands-on experience in Ableton Live and Logic Pro, Subsonance has built a diverse catalog spanning drum and bass, dubstep, and other bass-driven genres. Past releases include tracks on Norman Foreman, Burna Records, Society Recordings, Badman Sound, and Rudde Studios, with live performances across Christchurch, Dunedin, Timaru, and Greymouth under collectives like Badman Sound, General Waste Audio, and more.

A familiar face at weekly Open Decks at Galaxy Bar, and with radio hosting experience under their belt, Subsonance is committed to consistent output, community engagement, and knowledge-sharing. Beyond the decks, they’re now expanding into recording live bands, singer-songwriters, rappers, vocalists, and spoken word artists, creating a collaborative space that bridges electronic and organic sounds.

Driven by connection, collaboration, and constant evolution, Subsonance is on a mission to mentor up-and-coming artists, contribute meaningfully to the underground scene, and lead by example—building something powerful, sustainable, and deeply personal.

Causing mischief in every form possible, Grimmlin searches high and low for sounds forgotten and unheard. Weaving his way through crunchy snares, soul-sucking subs, and all the dark mutations present in dnb, it makes for a deep and intense journey that is as alien as it is familiar. 

Catch him tilting windmills and ripping beats from the underground every other Wednesday on Bassfreq Radio, and throughout southern California in various venues and formats.
