The Balearic mean machine, Cal Gibson is back on Paper with five tracks of leftfield, soulful electronica to warm the darkest of days. 

Boo Boo 4 Sure takes pitched down disco beats and lush chords for a track  aimed at the stars. 

Oh People's vocal sample is laid over a super late night, neon electronic jam for pure deep soul. 

Stay is Balearic folk for deep waters as the vocal refrain gets turned around and dubbed into the cosmos. 

Sooner of Later keeps it psychedelic and late night with tripped out delays, wonky vocals and buried jazzy electronics. 

Finally, Ache All Over cycles a vocal sample over filtered samples and a 4/4 sub kick with all kinds of studio black magic.

A live "Ibiza Vice" set recorded from an all-day boat party I was lucky enough to play at a few summers ago. 

This was my warm-up set featuring some of my favourite eighties artists including Phil Collins, Sade, Talk Talk, Jan Hammer Toto, Simple Minds, Brian Ferry, Eddie Grant & Chris Rea - plus many more. 

A nostalgic 1 hour mix, featuring a blend of Eighties Pop, Balearic, Boogie and Ital Disco/Synth.  Interspersed with some samples from the iconic  1980's TV series Miami Vice, one of my all-time favourite shows of that magical era for music/tv/film :) Hope you enjoy the trip back into time as much as I did :) Much love, Colin x

I'm still finding the right words for a proper post about what happened and all the meaning that this festival has for me, how it changed myself, my personal life, and even more, my professional life.
For now I just can say: Thank you Alex Lowes , Nick Connolly and SUNCEBEAT FESTIVAL CROATIA 2023 team for the opportunity and trust. Thanks to all the Djs for the inspiration and all the masterclasses given, and thank you beautiful dancers for a vibe like I've never experienced in my entire life ❤️Suncébeat will always be an event unlike any other, wherever the future takes us. Suncébeat Closing Beach Stage 21-07-23

Dave Howell runs the weekly Music For Beaches radio show on 2SER 107.3 FM from Sydney, Australia. Broadcast at 8pm every Sunday, it features the very finest in mostly chilled-out and electronic music from around the world. In its fourth year at time of writing, and steadily building a global audience, the show has guest slots on Chris Coco's The Chill Out Tent, and enjoys a well-followed Mixcloud presence. Dave has interviewed some key players of the scene on Music For Beaches including Chris Coco, Phat Phil Cooper, and quite recently Jon Sa Trinxa.

Dave's mix for The Sunrise Mixtapes is a nice laidback affair, with almost half of the selections having an Australian connection. Sydney-based artist Max Santilli, who has already featured on more than a few occasions on the series (and deservedly so), sets the atmosphere with 'Sea', from his Tidal LP, released in 2021 on Growing Bin Records. Tetê Da Bahia's 'Duplo Sentido' is a gorgeous slice of latin jazz. This rather rare find was released on 7" single in 1974. Another favourite on here is 'Silky Way' by German jazz-fusion-progers Kraan, taken from their Wiederhören LP, released in 1977 on Harvest (yes, the very same label that released Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon). Many of the records featured are favourites of the Music For Beaches radio show, and/or have featured on the show at some point. Older classics from The System, the aforementioned Kraan and Warp 69, among others, sit nicely alongside newer choice selections from Videotapemusic, Love Tempo, Mansur Brown and Seahawks. This mix truly showcases Music For Beaches as the southern hemisphere's home for beautiful music for chilled souls.

Snoozing the Music from Plants C1 is a 4-track EP that explores the frontier of post-digital music creation, where organic, biological inputs merge with artificial intelligence under the careful guidance of human curation. This project serves as a practical application of the Sergej Snooze current research. analyzing the intersection of objective data, technical execution, and emergent aesthetic patterns.

The Creative Process: A Fusion of Three Intelligences. This EP is a genuine act of co-creation involving three distinct stages of intelligence:

The Bio-Generated Signal (Nature as Input): The entire foundation of this EP began with the raw, bio-generated electrical signals captured directly from a plant. This original sound, recorded as an audio sample ("Music from Plants"), provides the organic, evolving lead melody and core timbre that drives all four tracks. It is the initial, non-human data input.
The AI Interpreter (The Socio-Technical System): The raw plant signal was fed into Suno AI, a sophisticated generative music platform.

The Human Curator (The Emergent Pattern Analyzer): The crucial final—and most time-consuming—step was human curation. From dozens of AI-generated iterations and extensions, the best four tracks were selected based on their ability to elicit the desired output that suits Sergej Snooze public appearance in terms of music expression  This highlights a key finding: in a post-digital world, human selection and curation are as vital to the creative process as the initial generation of the music itself.

A Research-Driven Release
Ultimately, Snoozing the Music from Plants C1 is not just a collection of songs; it is a sonic experiment demonstrating that meaningful, impactful art emerges from the dynamic interplay between biological life, powerful algorithms, and critical human decision-making.
