Eddie Logix is a Detroit-based DJ & producer we've admired for a long while. His discography is pretty intimidating at this point, seemingly only dropping solid gold. His most recent release Flight Risk on @RocksteadyDisco is a masterful 4 track EP drawing from leftfield, Detroit house dance floor sounds, disco, Afrobeat and Balearic influences. Also go check his recent Lumberjack Tapes mix @LumberjacksInHell recorded live at La Milagrosa, Williamsburg.

If you're in Detroit, you can catch him letting loose solo style Sunday 23rd July from 4-10pm for the Pet Fête party in the beautiful backyard at Ladder 4 Wine Bar in an old Detroit firehouse, celebrating all things bubbly.

He's delivered a true selector's mix, traversing & weaving together global sounds from Brazilian, boogie & balearic to Kwaito, house & leftfield sounds, into a really delectable listen.

"The reason I make the records I make is mostly to play them in my DJ sets," Belgian-born DJ Gratts tells 5 Mag in this issue's interview. 

"That doesn't mean they need to be dancefloor tracks. I play a lot of slower, mellower, weirder, deeper stuff out."

"I am obsessed with tracks that work in different environments. That is true class to me: music that works in a club but that also has enough depth to be played on the radio or in a bar."

Gratts' cover mix is "a mixed bag of tracks I've been playing lately. A couple of bits of my own thrown in for good measure. Some CD digs. Some double copy action. The last track of the mix is a bit of an oddball '80s Aussie jam I've been playing.
