Based in Brooklyn, That Matt is a DJ, event producer, and student of New York City nightlife culture. In 2019 along with dance floor friends he started Peer Pressure, a roving dance party by and for friends, old and new. In 2023 he organized and moderated a panel discussion about legacy in nightlife featuring veterans, historians, and scholars from a variety of NYC scenes. That same year, Matt helped launch Family Affair, a private, community focused, loft-style party. He is a resident DJ at the monthly queer party, Wet Noise and has been included in the Universal Lessons weekender organized by Love Injection and musclecars. Matt can be found playing for beloved dancefloors across the city including Good Room, Le Bain, Jupiter Disco, and C’mon Everybody alongside NYC fixtures such as Nicky Siano, Justin Strauss, and Tedd Patterson. His sets can range from classic, leftfield, and sleaze disco to house and funk, jazz fusion, and new wave sounds. A dancer at heart, Matt’s effervescent energy in the booth is palpable and his selections broadcast a love and attention to lyrical storytelling.
