It all happened pretty quickly for Alessandro and Federico Fognini. In 2011, after years of making music in one form or another, the two brothers formed a new DJ and production duo: Mind Against. Two years later they'd moved from Italy to Berlin and had their first record out on Life and Death (Atlant), with another two in the pipeline (Avalon and Strange Days). By then their DJ careers had taken off and they were playing somewhere in the world every weekend. It seems they made quite an impression on their audiences: last December, they debuted in our annual Top DJs poll all the way up at #33. 

Sometimes it's hard to say exactly why an act breaks through, but not with these guys. From the off, Mind Against had a signature sound that was immersive and completely their own: cosmic, emotionally rich and banging when it needs to be. RA.482 shows us an especially subtle side of their sound, with 58 minutes of techno that gently ebbs and flows. (Resident Advisor)

Cio Dorbandt is a part of German techno’s furniture. Born in Hannover, she can now be found in Cologne, while over the course of a lengthy career she has stamped her mark on cities across the country, and many other spots further afield. Made a resident at Munich’s infamous Ultraschall in 2001, she had also spent much of her youth pursuing her aspiration to become a dancer in ‘80s Berlin—a place she now frequents for gigs at the likes of Berghain, Tresor, and ://about blank​, following a wave of international recognition in the late ‘00s.

With years of experience behind the decks, studio work came a little later for Dorbandt. Releasing on Prologue, Semantica and more, her sound as Cio D'Or was recognized as central in a wave of minimal, hypnotic techno producers, encompassing characters like Mike Parker, Sleeparchive and Donato Dozzy (with whom she has often worked alongside). More recently, she has turned her attention to a broader spectrum of styles, bouncing between dub and ambient soundscapes, with the focus directed on sound design. Her most recent album, All In All, was some of her most experimental work yet, diving head first into a world of piano composition and cinematic music, as well as the regular dancefloor fodder. Not prepared to confine her talents to record though, she has also orchestrated a choreography project alongside Brigitta Muntendorf entitled PULSA:RE, combining the work of an ensemble with a DJ set—yet another string on her musical bow. D’Or steps up for this week’s podcast, with a dramatic hour long mix of experimental techno sounds that gives a sense of where she is at right now.

Fabrizio Lapiana is an italian DJ, producer and a founder of Attic Music, based in Rome. He started his career as a Dj back in 1994, influenced mainly by the early 90's sound of Rome and Detroit . His dj sets are characterised by his incorporation of the old school aesthetic into his club-based material, that makes his approach kind of unique.

Fluidly moving from ambient/drone to techno and dub, Lapiana's mix for Bassiani is a 115-minute excursion into the mind-bending textures, that allows the artist to share his favourite tracks from varying areas of sonic world and quality dance music.

Submerged in both Djing and production, Fabrizio Lapiana started his career as a Dj back in 1994, influenced mainly by the early 90's sound of Rome and Detroit as well by the first european pioneers of electronic music.

In his DJ sets, Fabrizio makes a precise and intimate techno flow that seduces the dancefloor mixing new and old vinyls range from deep, intricate techno, through an acid and groovy darkness with some melodic gems along the way. 
With his label “Attic Music”, founded in 2008, Fabrizio grow up his sound combining deep aesthetics and techno grooves often allowing ambient or industrial elements. To remember also the strong collaboration with Max_M on his M_Rec 10'' series in 2014, that showed his most emotional view of techno.

His performances in Rome as well in some of the finest wordwide clubs are a way to offer his right vibrations in the techno scene in the last years: the energy created by Fabrizio's sets worth living!

Wünsch has been an influential figure in the electronic music scene for over twenty years with an arsenal of unique sonic trademarks produced with high precision.

His distinctive energetic and cyclic techno, already featured within his sound palette, and a subliminal Soul component have become his trademark.

With 3 albums and more than 100 releases on various labels such as PoleGroup, Soma records, Infrastructure NY, Token, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Children of Tomorrow, Faut Section, Theory, Music Man, etc…including a variety of remixes, he has become a worldwide reference in his field.

Proof of his production skills can be seen on his remarkable remix CV, working with the biggest names in techno (Surgeon, Regis, Mike Parker, Reeko…), and most recently artists such Funk D´void and Percy X from Soma records, etc.

Wünsch’s hardwork has earned him a position on the line ups of the best clubs and festivals all over the world.

With an impeccable career, this international artist has made a name for himself with dark and abstract atmospheric sounds, becoming one of the producers, whose name has appeared all over the world on the labels and charts of other great artists.
Christian was one of the founders of Polegroup, and he was also one half of the ´Spherical Coordinates´ with Oscar Mulero.

His labels Tsunami Records and Nine are indispensable parts of any respectable record collection.

Ntogn is a techno project developed by Hypnus Records' founder Michel (b. 1988, Sweden) since early 2013. It aims to weave together modern sound design techniques with a fascination for dragons, shamanism and the occult. This has resulted in what Resident Advisor's William Lynch describes as "fierce, artistic techno that sounds like little else out there" and a discography ranging from hard repetitive deep techno to dark, throbbing ambient excursions.

As a DJ-performer, meticulous care is given to harmony and progression in order to create a comprehensive and captivating journey through melodic ambience to harsher hypnotic techno currents. Over the last few years, this has earned Ntogn the recognition not only as a respected label manager and eccentric producer, but also as an inspiring DJ appearing in several prominent clubs around the world such as Khidi (Tbilisi) and Elysia (Basel).

His most recent 12-inch record Sathurnus: I (2017) caught a notable 4/5 review on Resident Advisor and scattered projects over the previous years include a collaboration with fellow Hypnus adepts Luigi Tozzi and Feral, remix duty on Retina.IT's vinyl EP Octagon and a VA appearance alongside the Swedish techno phenomenon Shxcxchcxsh.

Hypnus Records 의 설립자 Michel (b. 1998, 스웨덴) 이 2013년 초부터 시작한 테크노 프로젝트, 이름하야 Ntogn. 이 프로젝트는 용, 샤머니즘, 주술에 대한 그의 열정을 바탕으로 현대적 사운드를 조합해내는 것에 초점을 두고 있다. Resident Advisor 의 William Lynch 가 그를 묘사한 글에 따르면 ​"어쩌면 이 세상 밖의 것으로 들리기까지 하는... 예술적이며 때로는 한없이 매서운 테크노.” 그리고 반복적이며 강한 사운드의 딥테크노부터 때로는 어두운 분위기로 심장을 요동치게 하는 앰비언트까지, 꾹꾹 담아낸 그의 디스코그라피에서 이 면모를 확인해볼 수 있으리라.

고운 선율로 시작해 거칠고 최면을 거는 듯한 음악으로. 이 흐름 속에서 디제이는 음악의 조화와 진화에 대한 섬세한 이해를 바탕으로 관객을 매료시킨다. 몇 년에 걸쳐 Ntogn 은 유능한 레이블 매니저, 개성 있는 프로듀서 였을 뿐 아니라, Khidi (Tbilisi), Elysia (Basel) 등 세계적으로 저명한 클럽에서 플레이하며 영향력 있는 DJ 로도 인정받고 있다.

Jongmin Lee [Oslated] : I think your music and Hypnus records albums are very oriental.
Are you interested in oriental philosophy?

Michel [Ntogn, Hypnus Records] : I used to read some books about oriental philosophy a few years ago.
Especially taoism but of course also quite a bit about hinduism, buddhism, zen, some Tibetan doctrines and other westernized interpretations of it all like Alan Watts and Eckhart Tolle.
Regarding oriental influences on Hypnus I think Feral and Primal Code has been somewhat inspired by Asian culture, nature and thinking.

Jongmin Lee [Oslated] : 당신의 음악과 Hypnus Records 의 앨범들에서 “동양적이다” 라는 느낌을 많이 받았다. 혹시 동양철학에 관심이 있는지 궁금하다.

Michel [Ntogn, Hypnus Records] : 몇 년전부터 동양철학에 관한 책들을 좀 읽곤 했다. 주로 도교 관련 서적들을 읽었는데, 힌두교, 불교, 선 (일본식 불교), 티벳 종교 그리고 서양적 해석이 가미된 Alan Watts 나 Eckhart Tolle 같은 것도 읽어 보았다.
Hypnus Records 가 동양적 성격을 띄는 부분은 Feral 과 Primal Code 가 동양 문화, 자연 및 사상에서 다소 영향을 받았다고 생각한다.

This week's guest mix for Global Vibe Radio comes from Milan's Wrong Assessment, a DJ/producer influenced by Jeff Mills, psycho-neuro-endocrino-immunology and Splatter B-movies. 

Through his experience as a household name in DUDE CLUB’s line-ups and his endless brotherhood with Max_M, Wrong Assessment has refined his own take on techno, with releases on M_REC LTD, Mord, Planet Rythm, Parachute Records, C L E R G Y and the very label he has himself launched recently, AWRY.
His signature deep and churning techno sound has taken him to some of the most respected techno venues in circulation, including Tresor, MMA, Space (Ibiza and Moscow), Corsica Studios (London) and Khidi (Tbilisi).
