This edition of BRCast features an exclusive mix by Pooja B

Pooja B is an Indian artist who has been a resident at Analog Room, a weekly underground party with a cult following in Dubai, where she was based because of her flight-attendant job. She recently moved to Berlin and is hoping to get into the party circuit there and share her music once clubs open up. Now DJing for over a decade she has played several festivals and clubs in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. She co-founded The EQ Way collective in India and curated 'The EQ Way' radio show on Flux Music (Berlin), which provided a platform for female-identifying & queer artists to showcase their music to a wider audience. She hosts a bi-weekly radio show called "ikigai" on India’s primary community radio, Boxout.fm which is a skittish time-space journey diving into the void of dark industrial techno.


Pooja B releases her music under the alias “ikigai”. Ikigai is a Japanese concept that means "a reason for being".  The word translated to English roughly means "thing that you live for" or "the reason for which you wake up in the morning. Her reason for being is to make people dance :) In a short time, she has had releases on Sonata Music, Underdub Records, Fabrik Music, SMR Underground, Fehlr Musik, 22.2 and 2 Bandcamp self-releases. She also takes a firm stand against racism, sexism & climate change, which she expresses via her music.

Born in Valencia and based in Berlin, Daniel Kyo has been for more than 18 years releasing music non-stop, which made him gain wide respect in the european electronic music scene, with works on labels such as Hivern Discs and Nitsa Traxx. 

Since the recent creation of his new alias CØRE he has been deeply immersed in the deepest side of techno with works out on Sungate, On Board Music, Edit Select and his very own @ara-music-label imprint.

DJ, Producer and Curator of Hidden, Deepak Sharma has been entrenched within techno for over a decade. Tough, raw and gritty describe the man, his music and label.
Perseverance is another word synonymous with Deepak Sharma: an unrelenting passion for music and sharing his sound through a belief so intense, his soul pours out and bears itself within each release and DJ set. Known for a cerebral approach to music, he demonstrates his ethos that DJ’ing is about creating a moment, often through taking crowds on a hypnotic journey and building energy, with a room as one towards a higher peak. While DJ’ing is his calling, his label also requires the utmost care through each carefully curated offering, slowly and steadily building a catalog greater than most accomplishing the rare feat of forty-four releases and counting.

La preposición procedente del latín CIRCA se utiliza en bibliografía científica, en documentos históricos o en genealogías para ubicar temporalmente un acontecimiento y determinar mediante supuestos, en qué momento de la historia de la humanidad ha podido suceder. Con este título este nuevo trabajo de Jëan Fixx busca desplazarnos a un tiempo indeterminado donde la relación del ser humano y la tecnología es tan estrecha que ya no se alcanza a diferenciar el mundo virtual del real.

En este compilatorio de remixes podemos escuchar las revisiones de los tracks de CIRCA realizadas por Death Whistle, Leuter, Drow, Ekkofault y Ermete Lo Stige, aportando otras aproximaciones estéticas posibles del EP original, llevándonos a diferentes estados emocionales a través de cinco ópticas muy personales:   La remezcla de “Humans” de Ekkofault nos transporta a un transformador amanecer, melódico y luminoso, en el que el encontrar paz y consuelo de la mano de un tema con influencias ambient, chill out y aportes vaporwave.   El remix de inspiración downtempo y tech house que nos presenta Leuter del tema “CIRCA”, nos muestra una narrativa progresiva elegante y flotante que nos seduce con pequeños lapsus de síntesis experimental.   Death Whistle nos lleva a un universo profundo y oscuro con influencias del IDM, el bass y el glitch, a través de la revisión magistral que hace del tema de influencia transhumanista “Virtual Body Language”.   Drow nos sorprende con esta contundente y precisa remezcla de techno oscuro y minimalista, en la que la firmeza de los vocales del tema “The Truth” acompañan una frenética línea de bajo que nos arrastran irremediablemente a la pista de baile.   Para completar esta publicación Jëan Fixx nos presenta “Last Call”, un nuevo tema que funciona como epílogo del EP CIRCA, en el que nos invita a tomar conciencia y acción de forma urgente en relación a nuestro presente y por lo tanto nuestro futuro. Este track combina elementos de techno clásico con arreglos más industriales y atmosféricos, junto a sonidos melódicos que nos retrotraen a la década de los 90, aportando un tono épico y progresivo que ya habíamos escuchado en algunos temas anteriores suyos como “Tannhäuser Tor” (2022) o “Globalizer” (2020).

Los 36 minutos de este EP se completan con el dinámico e intenso remix que el productor y DJ Ermete Lo Stige ha realizado de este epílogo, aportando grandes dosis de sonidos industriales y atmósferas oscuras que nos remiten al EBM y al techno progresivo, y que habitualmente encontramos en sus producciones.
