Shkedul - Sicuro

Dimi Angelis’ eighth release on his ANGLS label is essentially a tale of four brothers. Four separate tracks, clearly related yet with distinctive qualities that sets each of them apart in its own unique way. 

Out Of Nowhere does its name justice by hitting home from its opening bars, throwing a messy sawtooth layered with evolving percussion at the listener. Following suit, Funky Lizard is an amalgamy of trippy, filtered arps blended with a classic rhythm section. Damage guaranteed.

Third up but musically no where near third place we find the aptly named Titan, a unabating industrial track that has quite the character as a tool but performs just well as on its own. Fast and gritty. As if forged from the same fire as Funky Lizard closer Automatic once more takes a turn for the introvert in an almost Millsian fashion by employing driving tonal paths and hissing drums forming a grand conclusion.

UK based Arnaud Le Texier returns to Soma with yet another hard hitting, warping release entitled Mystery Picker. A regular on the global Techno scene, Arnaud’s productions are densely packed and built with attitude. 

Collisions opens the EP at full pace as modulating synths gather momentum, building in intensity with every step. Mystery steps up next, another energy packed affair that doesn’t pull any punches as its hypnotic elements, paired with hammering percussion deliver a hard, driving track. Picker slows things down momentarily but doesn’t drop out on intensity. Constantly modulating and warped synths dominate this more hypnotic track. Parallel Razor closes out with more aggressive elements taking the forefront. Distorted and dark and packed full of jarring and dynamic rhythms, this is a perfect closing track from one of the UK’s undoubted talents.

Although stranded at the moment, music will persevere. @hayescollective’s new K Series is all about the dancefloor. A collection of tracks by some of the label’s familiar faces focusing on rhythmic fluidity and witty synth work. Metallic overtones and a sense of urgency run throughout the compilation as eerie reminders of a lost world. The future is near, however, and it is brought closer by the adventurous and the defiant with promises of a new era.

@koryu_budo's new slice of wax comes this time from outer space, made somewhere between unknown galaxies and black holes. The spaceship’s pilot is 30drop, a mysterious alias that has been running its platform 30D for a long while now and is not often seen outside its realm. So it’s an honor for us to have 30drop onboard.

For this special occasion, 30drop provides six cuts of futuristic techno but with a ravey approach in a time backspin that brings us back to the '90s via Sci-Fi, reminding in some way of the early UR records, when Mad Mike and Jeff Mills worked together on the soundtrack of the future.

This is the label's first mini LP with 3 cuts per side. 

"Brain Effervescence" showcases the infamous '90s hoover sound bringing the rave element and 303 acid lines all merged in a lawless and dense mixture.

This is a work that showcases the skills of this well-seasoned producer that stands apart from any trends, futuristic, atemporal and scientifically crafted.
