Argentinian label West Rules is on a roll with their releases, having a back catalogue including artists such as Antonio De Angelis, MTD, Re:Axis, Vegim, Casual Treatment, Juan Trujillo and Arnaud Le Texier.

Joaquin Ruiz is the man behind the project and he returns with a superb new four track EP. His excellent music has landed on labels like Jeff Mills’ Axis, Ben Sims’ Symbolism, Alex Dolby’s Affekt and Joton’s Newrhythmic amongst others.

For this DT:Premiere we selected the title track “Tycho” with a floaty and melodic feel. A funked up and raw beat is met with delicate tribal notes that create a spacey sound full of jovial spirit and distinctive, ethereal atmosphere.

DJ Sodeyama readies ‘Makura EP’ for Radio Slave’s Rekids Special Projects.

Running the Arpa label from Japan since 2011, DJ Sodeyama has been actively involved in house and techno since the early 90s. Releasing music on labels such as Dynamic Reflection, Children of Tomorrow, Quartz and more under his The People In Fog alias, DJ Sodeyama now arrives on Radio Slave’s hard-hitting techno imprint Rekids Special Projects for his first appearance on the label.

Leading the release is ‘Catura’, bringing gentle flowing pads and gorgeous twinkling synths before the trippy, acid-tinged ‘Kumbhira’ takes a darker turn, sending the listener down a polyrhythmic rabbit hole. ‘Makura’ ups the tempo, drawing for sharp and fast percussion hits amongst ghostly atmospherics, an atmosphere matched by the deep and rolling ‘Pajira’, before ‘Sandira’ closes the release with a moody heads-down track complete with hypnotic synthesis and quirky FX.

Abstract Division is a long-standing collaboration of Paul Boex and Dave Miller, a Dutch electronic music producer and DJ duo. 

With over 30 years of collective experience under their belt, Paul Boex and Dave Miller are skilled selectors who go above and beyond to find a fitting record for the right moment. While releasing steadily on their Dynamic Reflection label, the duo is known for playing and producing driving, ​​pulsing and hypnotic techno. Abstract Division played multiple times in renowned clubs such as Berghain, Tresor, Shelter, KHIDI, and more than 25 countries.
 
The signature sound captured in their productions always finds its way into the record bags of the world's key DJs, and each new release marks a subtle evolution in sound. Their first conceptual and 10th-anniversary album 'Midnight Ensemble' opens up a new chapter in which they show their ultimate love for a wide range of storytelling music.

‘Midnight Ensemble’ could be interpreted as an ode to nightlife; a reminiscence of all that happens between dusk and dawn, captured and compressed into about one hour of music. An hour in which they so delicately time their changing of styles and tempos. This album is a reflection of that skill, starting its journey with soothing, mood-setting ambient, followed by timeless pieces of Detroit and Dub Techno. A daring electro cut provides a refreshing break from the four to the floor tradition, to be followed by the stripped down sound the duo is so comfortable with.
