Seventh NFR chapter is an EP produced by French-based artist Knay, who started his project in 2018. In relatively short time Knay released some great music on labels like Natch, Ritualism, Circular Limited. As artist says himself - sound exploration is the main focus while having a studio session, combination of nature sounds, analog gear recordings, transposed and time stretched samples used to create textures and rhythms. Release contains 4 original tracks and 4 remixes made by The Alchemical Theory trio, head of Solid Shape Records from France - Saebius, Italian producer Simone Bauer and NFEREE.

Empty Spaces (Saebius Remix)

Rising Techno star Nørbak makes a welcome return to @soma with his second release the "Struggle In Vain" EP. The prolific young Portuguese producer has had an incredible year so far in terms of releases and this 2nd release with Soma marks a decided upturn in showcasing his well crafted and defined sound. Adding to the EP’s already heavy sound is Spanish producer Kwartz who delivers an epic remix in his own inimitable style.

Subtlty and hypnotism are trademarks of Nørbak’s sound and opener "These Hurrying Years" is a perfect example of him using both of these to work in tension throughout. Title track "Struggle In Vain" leans on driving and direct elements that deliver on pure intensity. Listen to the premiere and you will see exactly what we mean.

"It Will Not Consume Us" works in broken beat rhythms allowing Nørbak to bring a sense of groove whilst more atmospheric elements evolve throughout. The Kwartz remix of "It Will Not Consume Us" closes out the EP with great depth as layer upon layer unfolds, utilising the original’s atmospheres and melodic tones, creating a whole new entity.

Since 2007 Colombian artist Advanced Transistor(born Andres Gil) has been regularly behind the decks all over the Colombian techno scene, throwing some of the most prestigious parties and running his own label Refluxed Rec. 

With his first album under his new alias, “Advanced Transistor”, he
dives into a trippy world of modular techno and Sci-Fi soundscapes. His album Semiconductor explores a galaxy of uncompromising sound over 12 songs, resulting in an intense and psychedelic experience, featuring innovative groove patterns which in combination with the textures become highly emotional and
expressive.

This album is a great example of the wealth of experience expressed also through Gil’s perfectionist production, where influences from different electronic genres merge in order to form his authentic and
unique sound.

The second instalment features individual tracks from a selection of handpicked artists. Featuring known and established artists, but also those breaking into the industry.

This EP contains quality cuts from Marco Effe in Berlin, Arnaud Le Texier in London, William Arist from Uruguay and QphoriQ who is based in Russia.

A1. Marco Effe - Sonorgram

Marco Effe has a vast history, diversity and pedigree of productions on the likes of Sven Väth's Cocoon, Dubfire's SCI+TEC, Luca Agnelli's Etruria Beat and Planet Rhythm to name only a few. "Sonorgam" is a hypnotic, rolling, analogue jam with an alluring hook and full of masterful suspense ready for the club floor.

A2. Arnaud Le Texier - Corrode

Arnaud Le Texier is known for heading up the highly respected Children of Tomorrow label and his music has also been released on Slam's Soma, Sven Väth's Cocoon and Christian Wünsch's Tsunami Records. "Corrode" wastes no time driving it's droning, stabbing synth into the airwaves complemented by chopping hi-hats that create a raw, sonic intensity delivered with power and precision.

B1. William Arist - Cyanophyta

William Arist is an established artist from Uruguay with over 100 tracks released across vinyl and digital formats using a multitude of monikers. His productions have caught the ear of heads such as Ben Sims and his quality can be heard instantly. "Cyanophyta" is a moody and twisted techno beast that uses engaging, esoteric and looping tones to capture the imagination with a powerful style bursting with energy.

B2. Qphoriq - Statique

Russian talent Leo Vasilets aka QphoriQ makes his debut on DEAD CERT. in distinguished style here. "Statique" is a thumping and euphoric effort using dreamy chords and distinctive drum rolls to create a compelling tapestry of sound design with emotional connection that excites and satisfies with its depth and character.

For this DT:Premiere we selected his remix of “Immersion” that focuses on a rolling beat and hypnotic aspects to drive things forward in a relentless fashion. Morphing tones, stabbing phasers and spacey textures create a deep character to this energetic piece of masterful techno.
