PREMIERES: [047HR] - Union Street

Taken from the upcoming collaborative two-track EP "Union Street" from Deepak Sharma and Cory James, available soon on Hidden Recordings, Gowanus Taps is now premiering on Monument. The track sets upon minimal, stone-cold loops with heavy, hypnotic arrangements as their sidekick. This approach produces a characteristic, dark groove that trickily seduces the warping bass in a continuous motion pattern, both enclosed in a playground of swaying bleeps. An output that relies on symbolism but also reflects an equally personal taste. Based on this occasion, Deepak answers the following questions regarding the release and his personal and label plans for the future.

The result is a two track EP combining the best of what these experts have to offer in the hypnotic realm: rolling bass, subtle shifts in percussive movement and eerie sounds that create a complete late-night soundtrack.

Side A features nine minutes of relentless groove with dramatic sweeping pads for the ultimate journey deep into the night.

Excited to share with you my very first set of 2024, recorded live at Ratherlost party at LoFi, Amsterdam on January 1st, 2024. 
It was truly one of the best NY shows I've ever been a part of. The club was completely packed and on fire as I took over the decks following Quelza & Nørbak’s incredible B2B set. My aim was to keep this massive momentum going while leading the floor on a journey to get lost in the music. Hope you can feel this mood and energy from the recording. 

Special thanks to everyone who attended, and to Ratherlost for curating such phenomenal parties and granting me the opportunity to share this mix.

For this release, the duo delivers three original tracks that range from punchy dance floor grooves (Sundowner) to striking hypnotic rhythms (Babylon's Fall) that leads us to Vision, the final track of this EP that will sure lock in dance floors with the nicely layered hypnotic grooves which has become the signature sound for the young Turkish DJ/producer, Yigitoglu, and his collaborator KVTS.
