In the title track on his debut EP for Shadow Wulf Records, Dylan Andrew blends grit with minimal, progressive, and psychedelic. Hornet's Nest aptly draws its name from the signature evolving buzzing effects moving swiftly and subtly throughout the stereo field, pricking the ears at each and every carefully crafted opportunity. Dylan drives this menacing groove with a thick, chunky bassline, growling synths, modulating acid riffs, and immense leads deftly balancing melody with savage ferocity. Like a nest engaging in a lethal attack on its willing victim, Hornet's Nest mobilizes a few subtle hornets circling before surrounding entirely as a vicious swarm, never letting up on the tantalizing assault...as if we would ever want it to.

Shadow Wulf’s latest EP release Hornet’s Nest features the dark, seductive sound of Southern California’s technophile Dylan Andrew. In this release, Dylan shows his stylistic influences – blending grit with minimal, progressive, and psychedelic. Consistent with his trademark sound, Dylan Andrew delivers a title track that aptly draws its name from the signature evolving buzzy synth moving swiftly throughout the stereo field. 

The track’s menacing groove features a thick, chunky bassline, a dynamic low-end growl, acid accents, and immense leads that deftly balance melody with savage ferocity. Lending his remix skills to this track is legendary dark minimal master Maksim Dark. Maksim provides a deep, dark, rolling bassline, multi-layered and swelling in and out with expert precision. Saucy little effects and synth hits feature in the mix, along with bold drums and a stomping groove.

The second track on the EP, “Orbit”, is a collaborative effort with fellow San Diego producer Memo Rex. Orbit thrills in its unique minimal and funky weirdness, a solid techno weapon filled with gritty and sinister sounds, cosmic arps, acid deviations, clever sequences, and tempo changes keep this track evolving from start to finish, enticing in its otherworldly journey, and keeping listeners guessing along the way. 

On remix duties is Shadow Wulf label boss Crescendoll, who brings a heavier sound to this minimal groover, flirting with the original stems while adding a swinging mid-bass, playful percussion, massive synth stabs, and her signature twisted psychedelic effects---giving the track a unique psytech feel.

French minimal producer Le Son Du Placard is an eternal experimenter. His Ooh Tshhh EP with LA-based label Shadow Wulf Records features two original tracks that delve into his creativity and experimentation with captivating results. 

For the title track, “Ooh Tshhh”, he explores the characteristic percussive sounds of dark minimal, using his own voice as a percussive instrument. His penchant for old school elements drives the creative flow, with an acid bass recorded from the legendary prophet 6 synth. His signature sounds surround the track’s core idea, with ample tension and dark groove maintained throughout.

The second track “Keep Quiet” uses his voice again as a vocal lead and a percussive. The bell in the rhythm is a signature of the track and brings a lighter, happier element to the dark groove, alongside his signature haunting strange synth melodies. An expansive pad wraps around and the noisy synth arpeggios drive the evolution of the track with support from the higher register sounds.

Ooh Tshhh EP marks Le Son Du Placard’s second release with Shadow Wulf Records, and his first EP with the label. 

The EP also features five remixes from Ian Cris [FR], Kleiman [MEX], APHE [GER], R.P.M [FR], and Shadow Wulf label boss Drew Blyther [USA].
