D.Dan launches his own label, summerpup, as a home for his unique blend of deep, groovy, rolling sounds steeped in psychedelia. The label’s playful name and mantra derives from heritage knowledge from his Korean roots passed down by his mother, based on his time of birth.

**Currently the vinyl industry is experiencing delays of 8-12+ months in production times, without solid guarantee of a release date. I find this just too long to delay getting the music out to the people, so I have decided to go forth with releasing the digital files now, with the vinyl to come next year when production has finished. "Amniote Editions team up with friends and bbs of Mala Junta for “The Collective Capsule” - a celebration of 5 years of Berlin's favorite queer event. The capsule collection consists of a 12” cordially made up of 4 belters from the residents Hyperaktivist, Yazzus, DJ Tool and D.Dan, two compilations stacked with friends and lovers and limited merch. 

The capsule also launches Amniote Editions’ return to graphic design studio Alexis Mark, who were part of the birthing of the platform and now presents their first cover design as a multilayer 12” gift - a record wrapped in a beautiful poster protected by a limited edition screen printed PVC sleeve."

It's not all about Berlin, there is also some great music coming out of the rest Germany. Upcoming artist Name_Less is based in Düsseldorf and promisses to break the current codes of techno: his infusion of house pads and vocals into the groove is reminiscent of a period where the two genres could meet within a set, or even a track. The revival of Hardgroove is also about this: bringing the soul back into these 4x4 beats. This "Ritual Groove" EP does it extremely well with a Chicago energy and dub bass-lines that deliver a gorgeous nostalgic feel. 

On the B Side, TRACKSÜIT90 and DJ SUN put a spin on it. Glasgow producer TRACKSÜIT90 remixes the title track with an absurdly powerful angle, taking the tribal drums and vocals for a ride. This is Hardgroove meets Power House at its best. Finally, we needed some actual techno to round this off, and DJ SUN does not disappoint: layering stabbing voices and electrifying textured the Swiss artist delivers a minimalistic and superbly deep rework of "Hit Em".

I am happy to announce the next release of mine on my label summerpup, called “Embers”. This release is two intimate tracks that showcase something different than my dancefloor oriented techno tracks. 

I originally made these just for myself as a means for reflection and catharsis, and as a form of journaling through writing music. However, after closing many sets with the track "Embers" last year and seeing how people connected with it deeply on dancefloors, wrote to me about it, and also found cathartic release or had a special moment to it, I decided that these should be shared with the public.

The second track, "As The Desert Exhales", is a solo guitar instrumental I wrote and recorded in Seattle in 2021 to mark a significant moment in my life. 

I hope you enjoy these tracks that are quite different but very personal to me, perhaps you can connect to them in a meaningful way like I have.

Do you believe in conincidences?

I don’t - anymore. I used to believe in conincidences but I’ve learned that everything happens for a reason. And that everything in life happens for you, not to you.

So, I have been busying myself with the idea of an remix album of classic tracks of mine for quite some time. But I struggled with the selection of tracks and which remix artist to pair with which track.  Until certain people entered my life. Some of them I only „met“ through their music on social media and never in person, others I met briefly, like in a car to a festival and some I started to hang out with and they became real life friends. All of these people connect with my music and I feel drawn to their music and in many ways we insprire each other.  As a natural result this remix EP took shape and I am excited to present it to you. The record contains four remixes of tracks from my back catalogue that cover a period of 20 (!) years, from my early days on Bush in the mid 90s to my first label Spiel-Zeug Schallplatten in the 00`s up until now, where I run Electric Ballroom from Berlin.
