With the likes of Black Coffee, Solomun, and Damian Lazarus remixing his music and support from artists such as Sasha, Bedouin, the Keinemusik crew and Pete Tong, Made By Pete’s ascent across recent years has seen his global demand soar. Following on from his anthem ‘Horizon Red’ alongside Zoe Kypri, with the captivating record picking up international acclaim and featuring in DJ Mag’s Top Tracks of 2023’ the London-based DJ/producer makes a welcome return to Lazarus’ renowned Crosstown Rebels imprint as he unveils his latest single ‘Fires’.

“‘Fires’ is about learning to identify and defeat internal doubts and creative blocks. The goal was to be playful and experiment without any exception of the final result. I ended up using my own voice, which I rarely do, but in this instance, it just fell into place.” - Made By Pete.

Emerging via a warping bassline and his own intoxicating vocals before launching into a twisting, heady trip, ‘Fires’ showcases a darker side to the exciting producer’s sound as he serves up a rousing cut crafted for hazy hours. UK house icon Bushwacka! delivers his ‘Magic Mix’ next, stripping the track back to work a tunnelling, snaking groove in amongst dreamy melodies, while NYC legend Victor Calderone and Mykol toughen the production up with reinforced kicks before layering trippy effects on top of the vocals. Not finished there, the package is rounded out with a Dub mix, providing another go-to dancefloor anthem across yet another stacked offering on Crosstown.

Patrice Bäumel makes his most welcome return to Kompakt’s Speicher series and it’s exactly as compelling as you expect it to be. “Luce” is a slenderly pumping piece of minimal soul featuring the otherworldly voice of Chiara Gamo. Once more, Patrice masterfully demonstrates how little elements he needs to create suspense, density and warmth on the floor. “The Cave” follows the same mantra, sucking us into a mystique stalactite cave full of echoing droplets and enchanting whispers. December 13 sees Bora Uzer’s two track ‘Street Love’ EP get a fresh twist with a trio of dynamite remixers on Nervous Records.

First up is the Berlin-based Bergamo native; Cioz, who has graced the likes of Monaberry, Get Physical, and Stil Vor Talent with his lush melodic sounds. Stepping up in a remix capacity, he has flipped ‘Street Love’ into a stripped-back cut, he blends a mesmerising atmosphere and emotive synth-lines with an irresistible minimal groove.

Diynamic pair Sonickraft kick things up a notch, bringing pure energy to the table in their rework of ‘Magic Kind’. Fusing strands of melodic techno, indie dance and progressive house, the duo have conjured up a hypnotic remix with a distinct nostalgic feel and beautiful use of the original guitar riff from Bora Uzer.

Rising talent Julia Sandstorm follows up her debut on LP Giobbi’s Yes Yes Yes imprint with a pulsating dance floor weapon of her own. She fuses the intoxicating synth-work from the original cut with a rolling groove and a lush set of stabs, closing the package in supreme style.
