Luke Slater is back as Planetary Assault Systems with another iconic EP titled ‘Devotion’. As a trailblazer in techno with anticipation ahead of every release, Slater appoints complementary scene Truncate and Barker for the remixes.

‘Devotion’ opens the EP with what can only be described as raw drum machine psychosis. Slater whips up multiple, classic tom-based 909 sequences with impact - he keeps things straight to the point before introducing the defining vocal sample. Truncate remixes the track by stripping it down to its bare essentials and emphasizing the rumbling kicks. He also gives the track his own flare of groove elements that build stylistic progression throughout the track.

Premiere: Planetary Assault Systems ” Devotion” (Truncate Remix) - Token Records

Marcal is back for round two on Dustin Zahn’s Enemy Records with “Cyber Dystopia.” Marcal’s trademark grooves and clever vocal processing make this one of his most exciting and hypnotic records yet. It’s pure class…there isn’t much else to say!

BUT we have to try anyway…
“Cyber Dystopia” starts off with Bionic Jungle, a trippy peak time roller sprinkled with uh, lifeforms or something? We haven’t been able to identify them, which is just proof that Marcal is living on another planet we haven’t been to yet. We’re standing by for the invite.

Moravex’s Paradox picks up where Bionic Jungle left off…chugging along in his signature style. It’s loopy. It’s tooly…but still heavy on the grooves, making it a perfect fit in deep and peak time sets alike.

Nothing About the United States hits a little harder and darker. Dissonant drones and catchy sound design take over, flipping the switch from “party” to “punish.” For fans of his recent track on Enemy, “Never Wrote This.”

Don’t Fear the Three is a classic Marcal percussive workout in heads-down mode. It’s as equally powerful as every other track on the record.

“Cyber Dystopia” is all about the world we are living in right now: artificial intelligence, smart houses, smartphones, self-driving cars, deepfakes, fake news, cybernetic warfare, metaverse, social networks, the internet of things, machine learning, virtual reality...
We are definitely entering a new stage of civilization, the post-modern era.
But,
Are we living an 'apocalypse of self-abdication' already? Or we are, as humans, simply evolving as technology evolves? There will ever be a limit to technology? Will it help as much it can also destruct?

Looks like it was yesterday, but we are now celebrating 100 releases at the Warm Up headquarters, and who better to put the celebration at the proper level than the label boss and curator Oscar Mulero. 

In a solid career spanning across more than 30 years, Oscar Mulero has developed his own signature in the global techno scene. These 22 songs are the culmination of a personal sonic journey and makes the seventh full album in his discography. Across this extended tracklist Oscar explores the most scientific side of techno, where abstraction and alien sounds collide with precise rhythms and ultra mental arrangements, diving deep into sound design and studio mixing techniques. On this voyage, the machine starts slowly, almost beatless on the first cut Aquí y ahora, slowly growing in intensity and groove on Percepción y conciencia and En un círculo vicioso. The fourth track Diálogo con la realidad pushes the BPM rate and goes into danceable areas yet preserving the bleepy pulses and precise drum programming. The tension stops in the middle of the tracklists with Laberinto, resetting the spacecraft before going again into hyperspace for three more upbeat songs. On a journey under your skin things go mental again introducing the listener into some ethereal atmosphere before the last quarter of this extensive alien opera.
