As we move into the spring & summer season, we're super excited to welcome HE TOLD ME to ICONYC One with his brand new 'Angel Dust EP' featuring two epic remixes from BOHO & Carbon.

We kick things off with the title track 'Angel Dust' which features an amalgamation of smooth bass tones, subtle drum programming, a cleverly chopped samples and intricately weaved chord progressions, building to an energy driven breakdown before rebuilding the elements to an unrelenting crescendo of thumping synth licks, chord stabs and an ever-warped bassline.

Angel Dust get the remix treatment from none other than 'Jannowitz Bademeister' and all-round top guy BOHO; who delivers a stripped back affair, utilizing a hypnotizing drum groove as the basis of the track underpinned by a staccato rhythm that pushes its way to the breakdown of breaks before unleashing into a rising melodic hook intertwined with the infectious groove that fades in and out for maximum effect. Fantastic stuff!

With 'Dark Harbor' HE TOLD ME delivers an outstanding track that starts to delve into deeper territory, which sees fused chord hits, underpinned by the HE TOLD ME's trademark bass patterns, before all manner of varied melodies weave in and out of the stereo field; proving the HTM's superb production chops and diverse musical tapestry.

Last but not least we welcome Carbon to close out the release in style, with his remix of 'Dark Harbor'. Carbon showcases clever programming to create a cunning groove, which really augments the flow of the track. Carbon shows his love for melodic and deep FX, which are oozing of coolness and are accentuated by the driving minimal feel. Something like a silky blanket of sonic spheres, which wrap you into an alluring soundscape but kick you in the marbles at the same time. Classy stuff!

HE TOLD ME is a lovely mind-bending collection of tracks that are wrapped in a technoid blanket of driving sounds for the underground loving sound aficionado. We are extremely happy to once again be bringing you a high-quality ICONYC One release that was made from the heart and for the whole universe to enjoy. Keep on dancing!!

Shadow Wulf emerged at the beginning of 2020 as the ferociously dark cub of existing House and Techno label Wulfpack. The new sister label was founded by producers Aaron Jacobs, Drew Blyther, and Erin Parisi (Crescendoll) when they recognized an opportunity to fill a void in LA’s underground scene. 

Thanks to Shadow Wulf, the Dark Techno/Minimal sounds that are more popular overseas have found their place in the den of Southern California. The founders have set out to collaborate with producers from around the world and provide a twisted auditory landscape for a global audience. Aaron, Drew, and Erin all met separately but found each other through Wulfpack. 
 
Aaron Jacobs established himself as a DJ in the New Mexico dance scene in 2002, holding local residencies and playing the desert circuit before moving to Los Angeles in 2010 where he became an SAE grad. He met Jamie Schwabl and co-founded Wulfpack in 2012 and has since become a substantial force on the West Coast from the festival menagerie to sweaty warehouse parties and sneaky desert events. His worthiness has landed him a residency with the mighty DISTRIKT camp from Burning Man notoriety. 
 
Drew Blyther, a native to California, has spent the last 12 years honing his craft by performing and producing. His skilled ears can be attributed to countless hours working in the studio as well as his graduation from ICON Collective. A background in branding and marketing, along with mentoring DJs and producers on the side, keeps his network growing. 
 
Erin Parisi (Crescendoll), despite her Canadian roots, got her start in SC, where she began her DJ career while completing her undergrad in Audio Technology. Passionate pursuit of work in live sound and music production relocated her to Los Angeles in 2013. 8 years in the LA circuit established Erin as a coveted performer, gifted music producer, and influencer in the underground music scene and desert festival culture, while simultaneously advancing as a live sound engineer. A force to be reckoned with, Erin’s dedicated ears are backed with years of training and experience behind mixing boards, whether at a music venue, a warehouse party, or a home studio. 
 
Between 2013-2015, the three artists connected and have been creating together ever since. Each one has acquired strong individual followings and have carved out niches for themselves in the SoCal underground scene. As they developed professionally, their interests and sounds began to gravitate toward darker elements and more unique styles. Inspired by countries like Germany, Amsterdam, Romania, and the U.K., it was clear to the trio that to further their music, they would need another label - something with focused selections and offerings that would appeal to listeners worldwide. In that spirit, Shadow Wulf was born. This new sister label will include collaborations with artists and labels that seek to embody a Dark Techno and Dark Minimal voice. Sharing these principals across the world and across boundaries will set every artist involved apart from others with less heart and passion for their work.
 
As Shadow Wulf takes its first steps beyond the original label Wulfpack, the two will still ultimately share the same intentions: connecting artists both in the U.S. and abroad with diverse releases, underground shows, and collaborative social efforts.

Lewis. aka Keegan Williams is a South African producer and DJ who offers a very unique and complex blend of deep and dark Minimal Techno. His signature basslines are fat & groovy, and his percussion lines are insanely tight and intricate. His productions have been consistently lighting up dancefloors around the globe!
We are very honored to have this young and incredibly talented artist on our roster.

Answering Machine EP includes 3 original track by Lewis. himself, as well as 2 very different but equally amazing remixes.

The first remix is a driving minimal banger by German minimal techno aficionado TiM TASTE. It includes his amazing signature sound and will get any dancefloor shakin'.
The second remix is by psytechno producer RNDM. hailing from France. This wonderful dark and psychedelic rendition of Lewis' 'Special Delivery' is RNDM's debut on AlpaKa, and we are absolutely stoked to have him on board.
