UMEK’s label 1605 welcomes a quartet of fresh techno talent on a four track mixed artist EP featuring individual cuts from Heerhorst, Julien Earle, Lazar (IT) and The Reactivitz.

Lazar (IT) has been a feature of imprints such as Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave along with Sam Paganini’s JAM, and he opens this release with his track “Face To Face”. Blending pounding percussion with grinding bass and hints of euphoria, his track is an explosive start that sets the scene for what’s to follow.

The Reactivitz is one of France’s most exciting young talents, and already he has featured full throttle techno tracks on labels that range from Carl Cox’s Intec to Metodi Hristov’s Set About. With thrashing hi-hats and ominous atmosphere, “Parallel Universe” has compelling vocals adding to the building suspense that leads into the tranquillity of the breakdown, before unleashing hell with a bass drop of epic proportion.

Julien Earle is fresh on the scene with a small number of releases under his belt, but already he is making waves with Ramon Tapia signing him to Say What? and Spartaque featuring him on IAMT. “Galactus” has a dystopian feel with its cosmic lead synth combined with sci-fi influenced atmospheric layers over a foundation of hard-hitting percussion perfect for causing maximum impact on the dance floor.

Heerhorst is a regular collaborator with Teenage Mutants, and his solo track on this EP is in the same style he has featured on Monika Kruse’s Terminal M and Sian’s Octopus. Closing the release in style, his track “Passages” blends uplifting melodies with a sadistic tone to create a contrast of dark and light that’s expertly tailored for a club sound system and peak time DJ sets.

Ale Mayer is an Argentine DJ and producer based in Madrid. After a long period dedicated to semi-professional rugby, he decided to leave his sports career behind to fully dedicate himself to his true passion: electronic music. From an early age, Ale was a loyal lover of techno, although it wasn't until he was 22 that he began to channel his creativity and musical sensibility through mixing and production.

His sound is influenced by both the roots of Detroit techno and current techno, with influences such as Robert Hood and Kevin Saunderson, as well as contemporary figures such as Adam Beyer, Layton Giordani, Nicolás Taboada, Andrés Campo, among others. Furthermore, Ale feels deeply connected to the more melodic aspects of the genre, exploring introspective atmospheres and lower BPM tempos. This combination of influences allows him to create a unique offering, with its own essence that captures the best of each style.

Her main goal as an artist is to create experiences that connect emotionally with clubbers, taking them on a journey of sensations that range from euphoria to drama to introspection. This vision is reflected in both her sets and her productions, which will be released throughout 2025.

On the Madrid scene, Ale has established herself with repeated appearances at parties such as Icebox Club at Sala X Private, Prisma at the legendary Marula Club, Goya Social Club, Hangar 48, and other appearances in venues across the capital.

She is also part of Katarsis Electrónica, a multicultural collective that views music and dance as an ancestral ritual of spiritual connection. Katarsis has organized events in iconic venues such as LAB the Club, Café Berlín, and Hangar 48, and recently launched her own record label, Katarsis Musik, aimed at highlighting prominent artists from Spain and Latin America.

As a personal project, Ale is one of the founders of Monochromatic Sessions, a YouTube channel dedicated to promoting emerging (and not-so-emerging) talent, with the goal of offering quality musical content and expanding the underground electronic music scene. Through this project, he also embarked on his first experiences as a promoter, organizing parties in collaboration with other collectives, thus strengthening his presence in the local scene by creating spaces where the community can resonate to the rhythm of fresh and authentic offerings.
