The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Ma Haiping. "Artificial Ecstatic (Secus Remix)" comes off the new EP of the same name coming out on California's Synthetik Sounds. The label begins the new year with its fifth outing since its inception, welcoming Chinese techno producer and DJ Ma Haiping to the family with an EP which includes a remix by Los Angeles producer Secus.
Through his Artificial Ecstatic EP, Ma Haiping delivers three original tracks that dig deep into the hypnotic and cerebral world of techno. While all are dance-floor ready, they also make excellent tools for any DJ’s arsenal. Today we premiere this razor sharp remix from Secus.

Hungarian producer Dave Wincent makes his 2nd solo release with Soma on his ‘New Weapons’ EP. His brand of minimalist yet tough techno has become a firm favourite at Soma HQ
and this 2nd full outing on the label packs no less of a punch.
Title track New Weapons hits hard with a space age, sci fi twist before the darker, more cerebral 12082023 takes hold. Beyond Paradise delivers on a more darker tone but more groovy,
rhythmic elements keep it grounded and closing tracks Death Row pick s up the pace perfectly with a driven, percussive and atmospheric vibe.

Next up on BPitch is one of Iceland’s most legendary electronic music exports - Exos - unveiling a three-track EP, Cyber City Volume 1. 

With an illustrious career that dates back to the mid-90s and often sees him being praised for his experimental dub techno, Arnvidur Snorrason has in fact worked frequently with faster tempos, as exemplified by his output in latter years. It’s in this speedier lane that he travels on Cyber City Volume 1, sitting comfortably in the faster end of his BPM range for an all gas no brakes trip into the vast unknown. 

Diving straight into the deep end, opening track ‘Open Your Mind’ is a hard hit of unrelenting kick drums, intoxicated upward spirals and skittering percussion, leaving no time for warm-ups. ‘We Are In Control’ follows up swiftly with an equally high-octane dose of face-melting rave stabs that get progressively more insane each time the cavernous kick drum drops back in. Murkier territory awaits on ‘Buzzer’, an after hours mix of low end frequencies and distorted hi-hats to close off accordingly. 

Cyber City Volume 1 finds Exos striking the perfect balance between chaos and composure, teetering between expansive landscapes and molecular sonic detail across three equally strong cuts.
