Selene has a love for hypnotic, atmospheric but raw techno, characterized by dominant trippy rhythms and textured elements. Selene builds musical journeys through extemporizing and sensing the moment on the dancefloor, where she hides these hypnotic yet powerful cycles. The sound that have gained the likes of many key venues in Europe such as Paradigm, RSO.Berlin, Tresor, Tempio del Futuro Perduto Milan, Lofi, Awakenings & Radion, to name a few. Her personal vision is to always reinvent herself as an artist, even when playing the same musical styles and she is always looking for fresh artists to support. As co-founder of RIOT, she aims to widen perspectives by pushing female+ talent in the electronic music scene by organizing raves, radioshows and more events for female+ artists.

Known for her relentless, hypnotic techno sets, she has played at venues like Postgarage Graz, Das Werk Wien, Rave on Snow Festival, and numerous other clubs across Austria and Germany — with her Grelle Forelle debut set for 2025. 

Her productions, blending hypnotic atmospheres and raw percussion, have been released on Splatter Imprint, Subhills, Nine O Nine, and DYS Records, with upcoming music on BCCO, Toon Techno, and more planned through the end of 2025.

Plasma Disco was the alias my friend Alfred (aka Timpleton) and I used when we played and made music together. We got the name from one of our favorite tracks, Samuli Kemppi – Plasma Disco. This mix includes some of our demos as Plasma Disco, as well as unreleased music from Alfred’s unreleased album - Geology That I found on a lost hard drive as well as music we played during our era and tracks that I found later on that I want to play for Alfred.

Danya is a Germany-based DJ, producer, and member of the 6D. collective with residencies at PAL (Hamburg) and Bunker Club (Kiel). Since her debut EP Self Destructive Mechanism (2023), she has released on labels such as Nyxii, Kluster, and Sine Space 7, with her first solo vinyl Sonata (2024) circulating in DJs’ record bags worldwide. She has performed across Europe in clubs such as Tresor (Berlin), Rex Club (Paris), and PAL (Hamburg). Beyond her music, she is engaged in neuroscience research, working at the crossroads of sound, perception, and the brain.

INTERVIEW
How do you balance your identity as a researcher and your identity as an artist — do they blend, or do you keep them separate worlds?

They definitely blend. My work in neuroscience constantly shapes how I think about sound, rhythm, and perception, and I can’t really separate that from what I do as an artist. I am now building a project where these worlds meet more explicitly. My vision is a platform or environment where neuroscience and sound art directly inform each other. That intersection is what excites me the most.

If someone listened to one of your sets or tracks with no context, what would you want them to feel or understand about you?

I’d want them to feel like there’s thought behind every sound, even if they don’t know the story. I try to make tracks that move and evolve, so that people can get lost in them. Even without context, it’s important to me that the music communicates some energy and emotion. I’d like people to sense curiosity and exploration. And ideally, to leave them a little inspired or reflective.

What do you wish the techno scene would talk about more openly?

I think we need to have a more honest conversation about the culture itself. The very culture that claims to empower us is still built on dynamics that endanger us. Harassment and abuse are still happening behind the scenes, and a lot of it gets quietly ignored. It’s time to question the framework we’ve accepted. I’d love to see us reset a little, put the community and the values back at the center, and open the door to more diverse and respectful voices.
