Als fünfte Ausgabe unseres Podcasts präsentieren wir euch Jan Goertz. Jan hat sich in über zehn Jahren einen eigenen detailreichen Sound erarbeitet, der durch eine umfangreiche Collection an Tracks und Tools geprägt ist. Besonders bekannt ist er für sein 4-Deck-Mixing, mit dem er immer wieder die Grenzen des Technischen auslotet. Diese Herangehensweise hat ihn zu einem festen Bestandteil der Techno-Szene gemacht – als DJ, Produzent und als Veranstalter seiner eigenen Partyreihe. 

INTERVIEW
Du hast eine eigene Veranstaltungsreihe namens „Hyperfokus“, wodurch zeichnet sie sich aus?

Die Idee ist ein bisschen mit den gängigen Konventionen zu brechen, wenn es um das Cluberleben geht. Ich möchte gerne, dass Menschen für einen bestimmten Sound und den intimen Vibe, nicht für Headliner, zu uns kommen. Für das Booking liegt der Fokus vor allem auf Inhalt und Authentizität der Künstler*innen. Ein großer Dank an dieser Stelle an Sofi, die mich dabei unterstützt.

Welche Künstler oder Alben haben dich am meisten beeinflusst?

Das ist natürlich immer sehr abhängig von der jeweiligen Lebensphase und über all die Jahre ich hätte ich wohl immer wieder andere Antworten gegeben. Momentan inspirieren mich sehr: Polygonia, Quelza, DVS1, Malin Genie, Casual Treatment. Ein besonderes Album und ein Artist, von dem ich productionwise allgemein viel halte: Stefan Goldmann – Alluvium.

Gibt es ein Projekt oder eine Vision, die du eines Tages unbedingt verwirklichen möchtest?

Das gibt es und das verwirkliche ich auch gerade - seit einiger Zeit arbeite ich schon an einem ganz besonderen Projekt. Mehr kann und will ich zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch nicht verraten.
Und natürlich ist da noch der Traum von einer eigenen Location, das wird irgendwann ganz sicher auch passieren. Ob Club oder Off Location - das wird die Zukunft zeigen.

For the fifth edition of our podcast we present you Jan Goertz. Jan has spent over ten years developing his own detailed sound, which is characterised by a vast collection of tracks and tools. He is particularly known for his 4-deck mixing, with which he constantly pushes the boundaries of technology. This approach has made him an integral part of the techno scene - as a DJ, as a producer and as the organiser of his own event series.

INTERVIEW
You have your own event series called "Hyperfokus", what makes it special?

The idea is to break with the usual conventions a little when it comes to the club experience. I would like people to come to us for a certain sound and the intimate vibe, not for headliners. The focus of the booking is primarily on the content and authenticity of the artists. A big thank you at this point to Sofi, who supports me in this.

Which artists or albums have influenced you the most?

That of course always depends on the phase of life and over the years I would probably have given different answers. At the moment I am very inspired by: Polygonia, Quelza, DVS1, Malin Genie, Casual Treatment. A special album and an artist who I generally think highly of in terms of production: Stefan Goldmann – Alluvium.

Is there a project or a vision that you definitely want to realise one day?

There is one and I am currently making it happen - I have been working on a very special project for some time. I cannot and do not want to reveal any more at this point.
And of course there is the dream of having my own location, that will definitely happen at some point. Whether it is a club or off location - only time will tell.
