Snap, Crackle & Pop is an excellent music blog. I have already published a 716 Playlist by Marc who runs the blog. We’ve been talking with Marc about a 716 Mix cause I was really excited about the idea of Marc putting his eclectic musical culture into an exclusive mix.

I have heard for the the first time about Nixxon (@nixxon) very recently because he was participating at the Camp Cosmic organized by the famous dj and digger Albion.
Nixxon has been involved with music for a while : he runs the label Cytown Records, co-hosts the radio show Radio Vendetta and contribute to the cool blog http://overfitti.ng-dis.co/. Be sure to check his other mixes.
That's it for the CV, now let the music speak. I love this mix.
Nixxon wrote me : "Now i’ve created something. It’s for once not a dance mix. More a selection of tunes i really like. Very suitable for making love to Laura Gemser on a deserted tropical island. It includes a lot of old used 7inches so some tracks a really crackling but let’s see it as part of the charm."

Le Discoboulet (@le_discoboulet ), another "hidden" dj that I found thanks to Albion (@big-muffle) who booked it at his festival Camp Cosmic and thanks to Guillaume des Bois (@guillaumedesbois) who recommended it to me. When I say "hidden", I mean "to me", cause just a quick look at his gig dates is enough to see how much he is booked. He is an authentic records digger, looking for those rare vinyls with tracks you have never heard. He has been strongly influence by Danielle Baldelli's tapes from the 80's. "That was a key moment for me and i started to collect all kind of weird library music and stuff that is kind of danceable".

For this first edition of his balearic disorders, le discoboulet will take you on a journey made of sweet ballads, psycho-folk, funky trips, synth explorations and groovy meditations.

Unouzbeck (@unouzbeck) has a podcast series called « We Are Obscure ». This volume 6 is dedicated to 716lavie, I thank him for that. It took 2 years to the Paulista dj and selector Radio Gringo (@radiogringo) for collecting all these obscure Brazilian love songs. Radio Gringo mainly focuses on jazzy, boogie, disco and ethno music, especially what comes from Brazil. This mix has a balearic flavour, "brazelaric" I should say. It's all about cozyness, the delicate sound of the sea, sun, love, melancholy and eternity.

Erevan DJ (@erevandj ) is a dj from Lyon, France and an active member of the Superposition crew. With Superposition (@superpositionlyon), he organizes the Urban Art Jungle festival that is focused on promoting the local artists from Lyon. He also co-runs the beautiful podcasts series "Bamboo" with LEO from Besoins Premiers (@wrismyaunt). Those podcasts are dedicated to musical genres such as balearic, leftfield, transe and sometimes tribal, which is also the trademark of Erevan DJ's mixes. For this mix made for 716lavie, he spent a lot of time collecting the records and finalizing the selection because he wanted to do a mix that follows a specific musical thematic and just goes on and on. Despite his name Señor Chugger (@senorchugger) is a young British producer : “I just liked Señor instead of Mister 😀”. This is how he describes himself : “Forged in the darkness of a Welsh basement, Señor Chugger was born through a caustically potent passion for Chug, Italo & EBM.”

He dropped earlier this year a promising Ep full of italo / nu disco with a twist of English funkyness on top, on Moustache (@david-vunk), the records label from David Vunk that has been putting out quality stuff regularly for a while now.

Señor Chugger will release more stuff as soon as he gets a new computer. Here is his 716 Mix for now, just on time to celebrate the end of the containment here in France : some italo-ish, balear-ish, nu-disco-ish melting pot in the middle of which you can find a Colombian and a French tracks.

I have discovered Janos Borsos Mike Nylons (@mikenylons) because I have received some news from his record label Farbwechsel (@farbwechsel) about his last project : "Eneme I". I liked it and wanted to offer him to do a podcast.

He is mainly a visual artist working with his wife since 2008, their common project is called Borsos Lőrinc. But he’s also been super active in the audio field, focusing on doing electronic music without compromise, something between abstract experimental and disturbing techno.

I have started to check Majus’s soundcloud (@majuskalendorius) after I saw he liked the super cool 716 playlist by Cozsmic Töfü. His soundcloud feed was brilliant, full of interesting tracks I had never heard of and pertinent podcasts. I congratulated him and proposed him to do a 716 mix. He gave me this set recorded live at the Opium club in Vilnius. Here you go, great selection and very good technique.

Let's start with a copy of the message I first sent to dj KATMANDÜ (@dj_katmandu) : "First I was like « ah ok, some more italo », but then I was very surprised about how good your mix for Italo Moderni (@italo_moderni) was for example, it’s like this with italo, you always think, it’s over, that everything has been said and still you can get a nice surprise, but that is not everyday."

This led me to invite her to make a mix for 716lavie. She proposed to do it as Magic Tundra (@magic_tundra_show), which is the Barcelona duo formed by herself KATMANDÜ and Louis Moorhouse Gann (@louismoorhousegann). They are also founders of Electric FUN FUN, a series of parties in Barcelona. The duo was born in 2017 with a bimonthly podcast on Radio C / C and since then, they have been playing at various festivals and underground parties. Their sets are known for their high energy and punchy rhythms with an electronic selection of '80s sounds ranging from Italo, synth-pop, ebm, new beat, and wave.
