Raised on gaslighting / and spiritual Kung-fu fighting / shadows on the wall / I called for help / Dark dreams answered the call / Darkness cradled me / and kindly raised me as its own / But when the stars came out and I fit right in / Well, my cover was blown / Raised on emotional dodgeball / Mind fucks and rusted pick-up trucks / Turn the key to my heart , it could only stall / Raised on razorblades / as they had more empathy than anyone around me / Rays of sunshine / I'd never noticed till now / It's ok, cause I found my inner child again, hey check it out / Mommy, mommy, what does sober mean? / She said, "oh,you shall never know, darling" / Why do you see me as competition? I'm twelve / Why is your fave drug making me feel invisible? / Cause, if I don't exist, that must mean I ain't gotta put up with your shit / Hey Granny, what does trauma mean? / She said, "why it's your inheritance, darling" / Why is your fave drug building me up / just to cut me down / With all that energy, you could've  built a company / where you could a been the boss of a whole lot more suckers than / just little ole' me / Was I the trophy? / My mind and my heart? / Well, yeah, that may be the only thing you got right / from the start.

WHY WOULD SOMEONE BE FINE TO GO DOWN AS A FAKE, A FRAUD, A LIAR, AND A COWARD?
SOMEONE WHO REFUSES TO REMEMBER WHO THEY ARE ~

I fell in love with a con man
He conned me outta some smiles 
and a few flighty years
but
a storyteller never allows a single smile
to go to waste
He tried to steal my spine
cause he didn't have his own
I thought I heard him roar once
Turns out,
it was just the television
He's got fire in his birth chart -
a flirty, flaunting Leo is a good time
But this flash-dancing would-be king
is fueled by some quite
 misguided 
passion - that tiny
 jawbreaker heart 
on fire
destroys everything in its path
like a bowling ball knocking down the girls,
blazing down the alley
with a passive aggressive >ball drop<
Ha!

And a cowardly lion is no match
for me
I was born year of the dragon
so
My soul came prepared
but thanks for the story, man
I am grateful for every lie, every smirk,
every knife in my back, 
every spine-stealing intention that I easily
dodged
I will use it all wisely
The Devil can only hold the power 
we give away
freely

He gonna learn now 
about that four-letter word 
he loves so much (burn)
And I wonder, then
will he take the time out
to look through his inner 
child's eyes
at the wonder 
of the boomerang

i was once disguised-
yes, disguised as a ragdoll
how my arms would bend,
how my legs would swing, ya'll
I was always put back-
back on the shelf
every spring, summer and fall-
so disappointed in myself
but this winter, I got the cold-
THE COLD IN A CHOKE-HOLD
i made it down-
down warm under the blanket
toxic boys need to learn- 
hug your ragdoll, don't spank it!

When their panties are in a bunch 
‘cause you refuse to eat their bullshit for lunch, 
You don’t know their thoughts while stirring that pot- 
most likely that you’d eat it and slowly rot…
‘Cause you have a big heart! 
They wanna throw it in their shopping cart 
and push it off a fucking cliff! 
Speaking of a cliff, I’m back  
from the edge, a little stiff. 
But I am standing mighty tall 
among the sunflowers, 
Choosing to erase the horror I saw- 
year after year- 
 
For just breathing, 
For just caring, 
For simply trusting, 
For minding my own business 
 
All they wanna do is  
push it.

        Kicked down the rear-view mirror,
	speeding down No Regrets Lane,
	I’m back in the Pink Hair Club.
	When you send all the junk back
	to the junkyard, you know then, 
	anything is possible. Free spirit on the loose!
	The wind is driving itself crazy, 
	blowing through my neon hair; 
	Opinion shield up- 
        'cause I’ve been through the ringer
	and pink is therapy.
 

	Picking up the others who did time
	At Narc Island and we are having a bonfire
	tonight. Gonna roast those {special} exes
	and see IF we have time for marshmallows. 
        We’ll throw all the projections that were intended 
        TO END US,
        into the fire. We’ll gaze at the beauty 
	of transformation and warm our iced-over
	hearts.

With a change in perspective of who is actually in control, we can escape the pattern, a.k.a. island. We can then learn to let go of the confusion that was intentionally caused simply because misery loves company. Enough is enough. And we won't give our power over to cowards.
Then, self-love becomes the journey of the empath.  We learn to set boundaries and eventually see right through their projections of shame,  guilt trips,  mind games, constant gas-lighting, back-stabbing gossiping, hidden competitiveness, mental-health-destroying triangulation and silent treatments, to break free and find peace within.
