With some super slick editing from Andy Sim and Bevan of vocals and skanks taken from the legend Robert Nester Marley’s original cut mixed with up to date Jungle breaks and Aries & Gold Dubs trademark basslines, the track has been a favourite of DJ’s all over the world and is still a popular anthem in danchalls and festivals across the globe today! After a high demand for the track still to this day we thought it was only right to put it up for free download in full 16 bit quality to say thank you for your continued support!

Thugwidow returns to the DISPLAYSOLO series with an asymmetrical two tracker front-loaded with a dizzying breakbeat epic and finishing off with a meditative post-rave chill out. Both tracks see the artist stripping down and dissecting his signature combination of technical breakbeat edits and zoned out ambient sonics. “A Figure of Speech” is Thugwidow at his most familiar, an onslaught of drums & bass while “A Natural Conclusion” is a rare drumless b-side from the artist. Two distinct tracks that are both uniquely of the artist’s sound.

After bringing heavyweight stompers from the likes of TMSV and Samurai Breaks to the table, London-based imprint Sub Merchants are pleased to share with you the third and final track from their debut release ‘SM-001’, an offering from the formidable THUGWIDOW - the third in a monthly series of singles, and the final drop ahead of a full compilation EP exploring the contemporary evolution of jungle music, releasing later this year.

‘You See How It Spreads Out Like A Fungus’ is the culmination of THUGWIDOW growing his unique sound over the last 5 years, which recently has seen him releasing across the likes of Kutadah, Infinito Audio and No Problema Tapes in 2020 alone. An expert in sound design, the abstract tone of THUGWIDOW’s music evokes an introspective feeling of late nights, early mornings and post-rave junglist afterparties, with ‘You See How It Spreads Out Like A Fungus’ being no exception. A perfect blend of ethereal ambient synths scattered with breaks and deep bass pulses, it’s a truly exceptional piece of music that flawlessly ties together the SM-001 EP.

7th Storey Projects was founded in 2009 by Simon Hesford as a passion project with a focus on unearthing and re-releasing classic old skool hardcore, jungle, and drum and bass music from the 90s. Inspired by the iconic labels Ninety Two Retro and Sublogic Recordings amongst others, the label initially aimed to help maintain interest in these iconic sounds and prevent them from fading into obscurity. However, over time, 7th Storey Projects evolved as much into a platform for modern-day productions that capture the essence of these older styles, driven by the wealth of new musical talent that needed a space to showcase their work.

In 2011, the label expanded by launching an online store, which not only sold its own releases but also featured music from other independent labels. This move helped increase the label’s visibility and contributed to its involvement in the wider underground music community.

A significant moment in the label’s history came with the launch of the Globex Corp series in 2016, which showcased the incredible talents of Tim Reaper and Dwarde, among others.

The series quickly became a success, running for ten volumes and further establishing 7th Storey Projects as a respected name for modern takes on the classic sounds of hardcore, jungle, and drum and bass.

Over the years, 7th Storey Projects has collaborated with an impressive roster of influential artists, including Tim Reaper, Coco Bryce, Equinox, The Invisible Man, FFF, Peter Darker (Kid Lib), Sonar’s Ghost, and many more, releasing music that spans from authentic nostalgic throwbacks to fresh, modern interpretations of old skool sounds.

After taking a hiatus from 2021 to 2025, 7th Storey Projects is now returning with renewed energy, continuing its commitment to supporting artists who bridge the gap between the past and present in the world of hardcore, jungle, and drum and bass.
