Another Sunday afternoon digging through the vaults. This one is a selection of Equinox records from mostly around 2004-2006.

Scientific Wax was just about resurrected by this point, but Equinox had not yet released a single track on his own label (and wouldn't until 2011). He instead spread himself about on now essential imprints Bassbin (and offshoot Breakin'), Inperspective and Subtle Audio.

So there is not a single Sci-Wax tune to be found here.

This one goes from light and breaky, to dubbed out and rolling, before moving into the punishing amen sound the man is renowned for.

Sylvia Pinto, also known as Valia Rees, is a Colombian Drum and Bass DJ and producer who perfectly represents the industrial sound characteristic of Bogota, her hometown. Valia showed a great interest in music from an early age, being part of her school choir and later taking private bass lessons. When it came time to decide on her university career, she chose to study production and sound design. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, she was unable to complete her studies. 
During lockdown, she decided to start mixing and acquired a controller with which she practiced for several months. She then decided to take a professional DJ course to perfect her technique. 
From that moment on, her career as a DJ began, and Valia's project was born.


With her ever-evolving talent and passion for Drum and Bass, Valia is a DJ who is making her mark on the music scene. Her sets are characterized by an elaborate progression. Her musical style ranges from Intelligent music, Liquid DnB, and Deep DnB, with a marked influence of genres such as Jazz, Blues, Soul, and R&amp;B. Her ability to mix frenetic beats and deep bass makes her an artist you can't stop listening to. She has performed in several clubs and radio stations around Europe, the UK, and Colombia, playing alongside recognized artists such as Goldie and Interplanetary Criminal.

7th Storey Projects was founded in 2009 by Simon Hesford as a passion project with a focus on unearthing and re-releasing classic old skool hardcore, jungle, and drum and bass music from the 90s. Inspired by the iconic labels Ninety Two Retro and Sublogic Recordings amongst others, the label initially aimed to help maintain interest in these iconic sounds and prevent them from fading into obscurity. However, over time, 7th Storey Projects evolved as much into a platform for modern-day productions that capture the essence of these older styles, driven by the wealth of new musical talent that needed a space to showcase their work.

In 2011, the label expanded by launching an online store, which not only sold its own releases but also featured music from other independent labels. This move helped increase the label’s visibility and contributed to its involvement in the wider underground music community.

A significant moment in the label’s history came with the launch of the Globex Corp series in 2016, which showcased the incredible talents of Tim Reaper and Dwarde, among others.

The series quickly became a success, running for ten volumes and further establishing 7th Storey Projects as a respected name for modern takes on the classic sounds of hardcore, jungle, and drum and bass.

Over the years, 7th Storey Projects has collaborated with an impressive roster of influential artists, including Tim Reaper, Coco Bryce, Equinox, The Invisible Man, FFF, Peter Darker (Kid Lib), Sonar’s Ghost, and many more, releasing music that spans from authentic nostalgic throwbacks to fresh, modern interpretations of old skool sounds.

After taking a hiatus from 2021 to 2025, 7th Storey Projects is now returning with renewed energy, continuing its commitment to supporting artists who bridge the gap between the past and present in the world of hardcore, jungle, and drum and bass.
