LohArano, the new electric phenomenon from Madagascar !

LohArano's style is a merge of rock and malagasy ternary rhythms from Tsapiky and Salegy that result in a new sound of metal. 

Their first EP, titled LohArano, released in spring 2020 on Libertalia Music ltd, affirms their mixed heritage that created their story. It's a parable of malagasy's past, present and future identity told through their bubbling rock fusion combining  electric guitars and mystical sounds like an homage to nature and the Big Island. LohArano deliver a new message like an incantation to drive out the negatitivy around you and call upon a consciencious awakening. A roar of the new generation.

On May 25th, 2018, her story continues with the launch of her newest single, title IRONY .

Who is she? What is it?
A woman - A Bassist – A Frontwoman 
Mainly/ Above all?

She’s the perfect fusion of Prince and Skunk Anansie with a hint of tropical touch. She has become the shining Madagascan pop star at only 23 years old!

How?
At the age of 8, she encountered the genius bassist, Jaco Pastorius (Weather Report) , and it became crystal clear that she will be the bassist, join forces with her brother Benkheli (guitar) and husband Sylvano (drums). 

Result?
The kind of pop that will strike you with a hot iron to proudly brandish their roots, which is somewhat ironic for an island that has electricity covering 23%.

It was after a performance in 2017 Libertalia Festival that launched the career of 	the rocket songstress by music label itself.

Her first 5 tracks was released shortly after, titled TNM, which means hangover.  Then her performance at MaMa festival Paris and Bars en Trans Rennes established her position as the next newcomer. 

Kristel is not only feminism that puts itself on display but, above all, the female 	generation that is mapping out their future. The future for themselve and for the nation.

Mafy Loha means stubborn in Malagasy.Kristel talks about the environmental situation, pollution, deforestation issue because this young generation is in a state of emergency planning their future for themselves and for the nation.
You can feel the excitement, the menace and the pressure. A hybrid music where eclectic influences come together combining electric guitars, bass and synthesizer with a hardrock tune like an homage to nature and to the land of the Big Island.

Loharano means the Source. This is the origin of all inspirations and the cornerstone of their philosophy: every human being is a source!
From their first EP, a strong sound with an eponymous title, the music as well as the texts invite reflection: What powers do we conceal inside? What do we choose to spread around us, thus making ourselves the source, in turn? 
The inspiration sources for the band are not lacking either, drawing as much from rock as from the ancestral ternary rhythms. Loharano mixes and fuses them, endlessly, to extract a new sound: their own!
