This is a song that JJ came up with on the electric piano and shared with the rest of us. He's done a significant portion of the songwriting for the Eclectic Collective, and always gives us quality songs, to which are easy to add our voices. 
When he sent it to us, he had a rough bass on there that sounded like Lust for Life. Ken came up with a killer and appropriate beat, which, if you can picture Lust For Life, included a lot of accentuated bass kicks. 
So, Josh took and went with that, and came up with a funky bass line. Ken and he kicked it back and forth a few times till they linked up. Then JJ added some funky ass organ and trippy retro synth to spice it up.
 Then it was time to send it to the guitarist. Tez laid down some smoking lead solos throughout, with his signature fiery guitar tone and amazing licks. Then Stephen funked it up even more with a fonky-ass wah guitar track. 
 Ken produced and mixed this one for us, and what an excellent job he did, too. This was so much fun to create. We all hope you enjoy listening to our jam as much as we did playing it.

Dear friends,
there are refugees everywhere around the world. It is terribly horrible to have to flee from one's homeland. It is extremely painful to see the little children suffer during the flight. Old and disabled people are also forced to flee - it's terrible!

Thoughts of a Refugee

When the morning dawns again and the fog lifts
then we sail to a distant land
where we heard that there are kind people
We have had it so hard — all the time
where we come from - and we hope they say
welcome here to us this day

It is not easy for us to get to a place
where the habits are very strange
and they speak so strangely when they address us
how will it go — when our time comes
to get to know these people - but we hope they say
welcome here to us this day

This journey has been very difficult - many have fallen ill
but now we have come to a beautiful country
but not everyone likes us
but so it is when you flee — from the lands of evil
but we don't bring anything - that can harm these people
who welcomes us on this lovely day

Our next journey is unusual, but necessary. And each of us should make it in our hearts, and then invite other people to join us on this journey - a journey to world peace. The problem is still very relevant!!!
    This piece is our tribute to the victims of the nuclear attack in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945. It is also a cry and an appeal for world peace!
    Artur: „When I got this intriguing synth track from my friend (Well) to record my guitar part, I was looking for the key to this song. Everything became clear after watching the film "Oppenheimer" by Christopher Nolan. I was deeply moved! May such a tragedy never happen again."
    Håkan: „I made this synth track and sent it over to Artur, hoping he could use it. He envisioned this theme and everything fell into place.
   Let us all hope that this never will happen again. Join us in our quest for world peace”.
