Adrian Hours introduces us Unwittingly, a rolling techno track 100% dancefloor effective. Big bassline, hypnotic samples and goood groove.

Julio Navas has remixed this masterpiece giving another point of view to the release, keeping some of the original parts and adding interesting and effective drums that gives extra energy to the track.

Talented Spanish producer Cuartero masterfully combines house and techno to deliver four of his best works to date for the mighty Hot Creations. This heavy 4 tracker has been getting heavy support from Jamie Jones & Richy Ahmed ever since they signed it.

Making a serious impact, title track ‘Dioneli’ is a rolling monster with raw, dominant percussions, while ‘Liquido’ follows suit as a heavy duty weapon. On the flip ‘Manipulated’ is a melodic masterpiece with a bouncing bassline and sultry vocals. Completing the package ‘Smooth Early’ rounds off with more sonic bassline action.

Spanish bred Cuartero began producing at the tender age of 15, launching his first release in 2009. Releases soon followed on labels such as, Desolat, VIVa MUSIC and Moon Harbor Recordings.

The Foreigners are letting go of a vicious two-tracker that’s created entirely with the club in mind. On the lead cut, “Friendly Fire,” they’ve synergized with fellow native Shosho to shoot off a grab-you-by-the-collar cut that is sure to make the rounds. Marked by pumping drum work and snippy, sub-assailing textures, this one will hit the hardest when you least expect it.

His current release together with Jesus Galan, "Guarana", begins with their own original creation: distant voices, Brazilian beats, the world famous Guarana vocals, and incredible percussions that send us into the drops, waiting anxiously for the powerful kick to return. Emery Warman's remix to this energetic piece takes it to deeper, yet melodic interpretations. You might think that it goes slower, but in fact, it is a carefully selected mixture of elements from the original mix and an emphasis of minimal groove. Deep, Tech, Perfect.

Solid Grooves serve up a five-track Ibiza sampler to tie in with their summer of events at Vista Club in Ibiza. In light of this the founders have curated five tracks from some of their core roster that’s illustrative of the Solid Grooves musical aesthetic including PAWSA and Michael Bibi alongside label favourites ONNO, Reelow and Dennis Cruz.

First up our Debut Transmission today, Dennis Cruz ‘Fever’ is a rumbling track boasting echoing percussion and a heady spoken word sample. Michael Bibi then drops a moody number teeming with syncopated rhythms and chopped vocals before ONNO unleashes a cavernous cut named ‘Body Shake’ that’s geared for the peaktime. Next, PAWSA ‘Luster’ is a bass fuelled roller that takes no prisoners until Reelow concludes the package with the intricate ‘Shaolin Slap’.

Dennis Cruz - Fever

Berlin-based duo Snacks drop an infectious four tracker on House Of Disco this October.
Forming Snacks (@snackslive) in 2014, New Zealand’s Rene Corbett and Germany’s Aljoscha Babel have been joining the dots between funk-fuelled disco and sultry house with releases landing on Pusic Records, Boogie Angst, hafendisko and Mule Musiq. As DJs they’ve been transforming dancefloors into all out bedlam with their upbeat and eclectic performances, whilst their party-focused productions have found a home in the record crates of Ben UFO, Detroit Swindle, Prosumer and Beats In Space’s Tim Sweeney.

‘Burnin’ inaugurates the package by dropping a laidback drum rhythm, piercing chords and soulful vocal loops topped with a fuzzy bassline. ‘Matinee’ then takes things into deeper territories with organic percussion, blissful synth swells and uplifting choral patterns, before ‘Deep Fry’ generates a compelling groove with smooth bass licks and rich string harmonies.

In demand Dutch duo @Fouk, who’ve appeared on HOD as well as Razor-N-Tape and Heist, deliver an offbeat take on ‘Deep Fry’ with delicate melodies, opulent pads and cosmic nuances resonating throughout. Finally, a digital only remix comes from fellow Netherlands-based pair Soultage, whose rendition of ‘Burnin’’ works with the original’s pianos and vocals to produce a new level of funk.

PREMIERE : Snacks - Deep Fry (Fouk Remix) [House Of Disco]

Acclaimed Amsterdam techno DJ / producer Joran van Pol is stepping out with his own brand new label. He marks the first release with a brilliant brace of his own cuts plus an on point remix from Italian producer Luigi Madonna.

The label will follow this same MO—originals from van Pol and a guest remix— with each new release and comes after van Pol has already made a name for himself with searing techno productions on labels like Minus, Rejected, Sci+Tec and Ideal Audio.  This excellent EP kicks off with our Debut Transmission today, the superb ‘Verge,’ a rib rattling techno track designed to fill full warehouses with sound. It is an industrial tinged effort with plenty of drama and tension in its creeping synths and rolling drums, and exactly typifies van Pol’s singular aesthetic. 

This is a strong start to what is sure to be an essential new label.

Liverpool was recently awarded UNESCO world Heritage City of Music status, and Liverpool council and LIMF (Liverpool International Music Festival) turned to Yousef who’s ethos, record label and famed Circus party have played a vital role in the city’s dance music history. LIMF asked Yousef to develop and curate a very special project to aim to connect Liverpool with other musically buoyant global cities via an event, a documentary and full collaborative EP with the artists he invited to join him.  

As the project developed, Yousef realised he needed to team up with artists who “are flexible and able to make a musical collaboration with me and the DJs.” Though it gradually became clearer to the Liverpool DJ he needed to join forces with friends he trusted, which was one of the main criteria that tilted the scales when selecting the cities. 

Mexico City was a personal choice for the Liverpool native who confesses he absolutely loves playing there. Being one of Mexico City’s most prominent artists these days, Hector was the logical choice for the dance music ambassador of the metropolis. “Frankfurt is just as important for the history of electronic music as Liverpool is for me, or any of the US cities like New York or Detroit,” Yousef explains. Admittedly, taking into account Yousef’s friendship with an extremely talented Frankfurt artist, Reboot, completely justifies the choice of representative of the German city. But even that A-list selection wasn’t enough for Yousef, who wanted to bring another DJ from Liverpool on board, recruiting Circus resident and local hero Lewis Boardman. 

“We managed to find three guys who were up for the project from really important cities for music around the world. So we all completed music together. The project taking in the planning, the event, the documentary and the EP release took many months but is now completed.”

As the musical status of Liverpool is based on cultural exchanges in the past, Yousef truly believes it also plays a vital role in any art form. For him, influences are essential to creativity as they help artists explore new ground, while remaining true to themselves

Up first is Get Enough, seven minutes of seductive techno that has an almost machine-gun like disco synth firing across the groove. It is a rumbling peak time track with real force and energy that will bring any floor to life. The title track, Toleranz, is a gritty and stripped back basement cut with dry hits and burrowing acid bass that takes you deep into the night. Cobra then proves this pair have real breadth in the studio and is a barrel chested house cut with more big hits, rib rattling bass and incendiary techno hi hats that really get you on your toes. Remixing are the tech duo of Pleasurekraft, whose releases on Octopus and Mood Records have won them plenty of DJ and dancing fans. They layer in some dark melodies to SQ80 and build it steadily before allowing the militant drums and crisp snares to explode and drive you and the whole club forwards.

Realness: if there was one word you’d use to sum up Parisian house dealer Phil Weeks that would definitely be it. He’s never kowtowed to trends or hype. He’s never compromised. He’s never lost focus of his primary goal: to make undiluted, straight-up house music that physically moves you. 
Nearly 20 years deep as a DJ, artist and founder of the impeccable and super-consistent Robsoul imprint, Weeks’ dedication to house music is up there with the best; solid, unwavering and true to the craft. Case in point: the straight-to-dancefloor beat bounty album ‘Raw Instrumental 2’. 
Starting the New Year with a serious statement of groove intent, the eight track package is the follow up to his successful 2012 collection ‘Raw Instrumental’. His fifth studio album in total, the title says it all: rawness and full focus on both the dancefloor and the best creative DJs. No messing around; each track is tailored for total mix and party pleasure and covers every shade of the night. 
It’s peaky business from the off as Phil lights the fire with ‘The Rhythm’ an incendiary burner that sp Flexing a classic Blaze sample, all the elements build with the bulldozer drums and subs pushing relentlessly. ‘Oh Baby’, meanwhile, slips us into a something slinkier with its bumping deep drum shuffle and optional instrumental. 
Elsewhere ‘Can’t Live Without Your Love’ plays a long teasing lead before erupting with a timeless disco groove that comes out of nowhere and lights, lifts and vibes up the entire room before we get back to basics with the naked funk of ‘Night Drive’. Here the loose stringed bass plucks between the swooning filtered chords, setting the scene for the most forthright track of the album… ‘House Head’. 
 ‘House Head’ ignites with a poignant spoken word flashback to a time when house was regarded by some as dirty word and the mass exodus to electro and minimal began. Explaining his f**k-free zen with clarity and humility, a warehouse-shaking arrangement kicks in and builds to organs so broad and warm they’ll knock you off your feet. 
Gradually bringing the collection to close, Weeks climaxes with the perfect contrast; the smooth unhurried filtered clap-happy soul of ‘Losing My Edge’ countered by the feet-first chugging 909 drum thunder and super-loopy walking bassline of ‘Excess’ rolls and rolls into groove oblivion. 
Both cuts capturing the stark spectrum and axis which Phil is celebrating here with his lean fusions of primal elements, it’s a closing reminder of another word our favourite Parisian house dealer should be described by: Rawness.

Adrian Hour has been providing some outstanding tracks for Toolroom Records over the past year, with ‘Shoot To Thrill’ proving a firm favourite on La Terraza at Space and ‘Ethno’ on the recent ‘Rhythm Distrikt 03’ compilation having wowed the Toolroom faithful. Adrian Hour now cements this success with his debut solo release on Toolroom Records, his ‘Speaking Groove EP’.

With a penchant for quality techno and tech house tunes, Adrian Hour’s ‘Speaking Groove EP’ carries that trademark techy sound throughout its three tracks. Leading the EP, ‘Speaking Groove’ is a dark and atmospheric track with a cool groove, rolling bass and reverb-laden vocals that combine to create an accomplished tech tune. Next up, ‘Old Future’ balances the metallic bite of the percussion with a throbbing bass and throws in a distorted vocal sample that echoes around the track at choice moments; this is one for the dancefloor. Concluding the EP, ‘She’ is an encapsulating track that draws the listener in with a hypnotising melody layered over a soft bass with minimal and precise percussion. Taken together, these tracks create a techy soundscape for you to sink into.
