Club Kong is six remixes that sounds like an electronic jungle jazz club, with production by halc and Dj CUTMAN. 

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Donkey Kong Country's release. Receiving high praise from gamers and critics alike, Donkey Kong Country became the second-best selling Super Nintendo game of all time. It spawned several popular sequels for Super Nintendo and was revived for the Wii in 2010 as Donkey Kong Country Returns. 

The original Donkey Kong Country soundtrack, written by beloved video game composer David Wise, was released under the title DK Jamz. Described as atmospheric "jungle music", the soundtrack features a wide range of musical styles blended with natural environmental sounds. Club Kong works popular melodies from the Donkey Kong Country series into a modern jazz fusion arrangement. Like stepping into electronic Donkey Kong jazz club, this artistic re-imagination will captivate gamers and electronic music fans alike. 

Club Kong brings together a powerhouse team of talent from the video game music scene. The album is produced by Drew Wheeler, also known as Halc. Halc is best known for his work with OverClocked Remix, contributing to thirteen albums since 2007. He is also the founder of 9-bit Records, a label that combines 8-bit sounds and modern electronic production. Club Kong is Halc's second album with GameChops. The album is introduced by popular youtube comedian Brentalfloss, and the album is mastered by video game remixer and founder of GameChops, Dj CUTMAN. 

The album is timely given the upcoming release of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, the fifth installment in the Donkey Kong Country series. Club Kong is sure to generate excitement for the upcoming game in old fans and newcomers to the series. Tropical Freeze will be available for WiiU in on February 21st.

Vs. Star Dream/Mind in a PROGRAM - Kirby Planet Robobot

A candidate song for an album that I'm composing called "this is not music." It's an alright track, and I think I might end up using this in the album somewhere.

Precious Gate

It first started when I was experimenting with the Padawan plugin from Tweakbench which can be heard resonating throughout the entire song. The project was originally at 140BPM, but once I started experimenting with riffs that would accompany the resulting sound I made with the Padawan, I ended up shifting it to 222BPM, a value seen in two previous related songs, "Tableflip" and "Peopleflip," released on The OHC Collection -the FIRST- and Sevensongs of Springbreak, respectively. Once I got all the potential patterns down, it was just a matter of arranging them into something feasible.

For some reason, I also stuck with a 5/4 time signature, a first for me. Needless to say, it was fun making riffs that would fit in such an uncommon time signature.

I could say that it's a re-imagining of "Tableflip" as it contains some of the key riffs heard in that song, but I think it could also be a song that stands out in and of itself.

The last time I did a collab with DDRKirby(ISQ), he was the one to start things off. Now, it's my turn.

Note: this is the first iteration of the collab piece. The final version will be put in an EP that DDRKirby(ISQ) and I are diligently working on. This is the only version of this song that I will upload to the public.

What started off as an experiment with me slicing up So-Ra-Wo-To-Bu (DDRKirby Mix) and arranging the tones to something rhythmically comprehensible took on a life of its own. I've so far spent over 5 hours mixing and building upon this song, and so far, it sounds pretty good as it is.

I feel there could be a lot more to expand upon in some places, particularly the ending where the build-up is significantly longer than what it builds up to. Either way, I'm taking suggestions on how I could improve on this arrangement-wise (and probably sound-wise, though I'll most likely restrict it to fine-tuning, for the most part).

P.S. The song that this song slices is not related to So-Ra-No-Wo-To in any way; it just uses the same style of naming as it.

Not satisfied with my first attempt (which you can see here: http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/OHC216), I decided to redo this piece into something that would actually fit in with the gameplay of Prismic Shift.

Up until now, this track was only available on the video game, and even then, the version that's on the video game is a bit unpolished mixing-wise. Here's a more polished version of that song for your listening pleasure. This will also be in future versions of Prismic Shift, starting version 0.48.
