An extended mix from Rrose to celebrate our entry into 2023 and the upcoming release of TULIP SPACE [EAUX1591] available for pre-order now at https://eaux.ro/album/tulip-space and the upcoming full-length album PLEASE TOUCH (full announcement in Spring). The mix contains tracks from both releases.

This is a studio mix, started with an initial live take and then combed over meticulously with automated filters, eq, and fx. This is the same setup I use to play out, minus the automation. There is rarely a point when only one track is playing. I always try to find mixes that feel like a new track emerges from the combination. I imagine the optimal listening environment to be eyes-closed with headphones on, but I also hope you will feel an irresistible urge to move at some points ;)

Originally from Georgia, Irakli’s early descent into the German capital has seen him corner and develop a side of the local scene and turn it into something of an international fare. 
Ten years ago he created STAUB, one of Berlin’s most celebrated techno parties. As a part of the production duo I/Y, he has been releasing music under the synonymous co-founded label. But most of all, Irakli’s craft behind the decks has been weighed upon by the likeliest of Berlin’s underground venues, with his vision of electronic music taken further afield in Europe, and the Americas. In 2017 he founded the Intergalactic Research Institute for Sound with artists like Stanislav Tolkachev, Natalie Beridze, Rezo Glonti and many others. 2021 Irakli released debut album „Major Signals“ on Dial Records.

Adding orchestral collaborations and sound installations to a field of work outside of the club, Irakli’s expanding platforms and industrious connection to Berlin has seen his entry point into the scene now serve as an outlet into the more abstract, experimental realms of techno. With new endeavors afoot and a creative repertoire to boot, Irakli’s DJ sets, labels and parties always display unique qualities. It does not matter whether he is exploring beatless soundscapes or high energy music, Irakli always manages to create something special.

▻ Leon how i heard, you play a while as a DJ. How old were you when you started DJing and how did it happen?

I started DJing when I was 17 years old. Since 2012 I've been totally obsessed with techno, listening to different DJ sets for 8-10 hours every day. At that time I wasn't experienced at all with technology or computers, which is why I started playing with vinyl right away because I found it kind of obvious how it works. Then I had my first gig in my hometown of Bielefeld around mid-2014. And that's how it started. 

▻ Where had you made so far your beautifully experience? - What will you always remember?

Im very lucky to have many beautiful experiences as a DJ. One highlight was definitely a five hour Closing Set at Zur Klappe in Berlin in 2019 together with my Techno Mama P-T2. She’s also the reason why I could DJ in Munich in the first place. With her I share most of my best b2b experiences. She always pushes me to play Vinyl and our styles go very well together. Lately I enjoy it a lot to play b2b with my best mate Louis EMP. We are both residents at Garry Klein and co-founded the PERRAS Parties, alongside Manuel Loewe and MRTI. Together we really enjoy diving deep into House music and going into different directions. I really have to say I love playing b2b, its like playing theater. Its a constant dialogue and two or more brains always work better than one. One gig I will always remember was Louis and my last Set at old Harry Klein before it closed for good in the end of may 2023. We were having such a blast, were surrounded by close friends and the crowd just went nuts. That was a very emotional experience and I will cherish that forever. 

▻ Would you also consider working professionally as a DJ?

No, not entirely. I know myself good enough to know that I get bored and uninspired very fast if im doing only one thing for work. I would just love to have a residency again in the place where I live so I can save myself the time of sitting on the train and not being in several places all the time.

▻ As you can see, you work full-time in the theater. You are there an actor right?

Yes. I went to drama academy in Munich from 2015 to 2019 and im working now full time as a theater actor in a small town close to Berlin, which is quite intense because I still DJ mostly in Munich and Bavaria. But I really love my job and I draw a lot of inspiration from it which I also can use for my music and vice versa. I enjoy it very much to express myself in different artistic ways. But since im doing like 4 to 5 plays a year, I will focus on bringing more balance between DJing and theater in the future so i can spend more time with music and production especially. 

▻ How would you rate yourself as a person, what do people say about you? - And what would you want to say to the world in one sentence?

My interests can change in a matter of days. When something excites me, I want to know everything about it. I know more DJs than anyone else, I know who played when in which club. I'm either completely excited and supportive or completely bored, frustrated and misanthropic. I have great difficulty finding a middle ground in my life. Thats sometimes good, sometimes bad. Im very passionate and compassionate but also a bit malicious sometimes, hihi.

Madeleine's love for music is unmeasurable. She has always been surrounded by it as she was influenced by classical music at a young age. Eventually, she discovered electronic music for the first time when she was visiting Slovakia's most open-minded festival at the age of 11 years old.

Her path to becoming an artist already started very early, but it really took shape when she came into contact with former club Herna and the local underground scene in Brno, Czech Republic, which persuaded her to start DJ'ing. Besides DJ'ing Madeleine also caught an interest in producing, so she started her master's of sound design in Brno.

Over time, she became most intrigued by the mind-bending, repetitive sounds of techno. That's why Madeleine likes to give tracks the space they need to evolve and create a hypnotic and symbiotic sphere on the dance floor.

Xanexx is a DJ and producer from Seoul, Korea.
Since 2008, he has been an integral part of Korea's electronic music scene, performing at various clubs and festivals in Seoul.
In 2012, Xanexx founded Hexa Records, and released the EP "Grenzsituation". He also held a residency at Vurt, a solid techno club in Seoul, aswell a representative artist of the well known SCOPIVIK label/podcast serie in Korea.
In 2022, Xanaxx solidified his reputation by releasing the full-length album "Alpha Range," further establishing himself as an innovative force in the techno genre. Enjoy his mix!
