Izy release They Don’t Care (Yoruba Soul Extended Mix) a raw, deep house reimagining of their 2021 track by legendary producer and DJ Osunlade. Osunlade takes They Don’t Care on a sparse, minimal house journey, clearing the arrangement right out to give bassist and vocalist Warrigo Tyrrell’s vocals room to breathe and float over the pulse. 

One of the world's longest established deep house producers, Osunlade’s touch is minimal and masterful. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri but a lifetime nomad, Osunlade is the founder of Yoruba Records and has worked with and remixed for artists including Patti Labelle, Freddie Jackson, Roy Ayers, Nkemdi, Salif Keita, and Cesária Évora. Osunlade's music has a deep spiritual root in Yoruba traditions that are also reflected in the name of his record label, album covers, and approach to life. 

They Don’t Care (Yoruba Soul Extended Mix) is the first single from Irene - Remixes (Vol I), a collection of dancefloor focused re-workings of Izy’s 2021 album Irene. The remixes take Izy’s raw, soulful vocals and analog production and reconstitutes them in pulsing new arrangements. Vol I of remixes launches as Izy head back into the studio to work on album number two. 

They Don’t Care (Yoruba Soul Extended Mix) is available everywhere on September 29th on Hopestreet Recordings.

Looper release a new 5CD box set, titled 'These Things', Spring 2015.
Covering Looper's entire career from 1997 up to present day, with tracks from the debut 'Up A Tree' through to the new album 'Offgrid:Offline'.

Looper emerged from Belle & Sebastian in 1997, when Stuart David (co-founder and bass player of B&S) and his wife Karn (an artist who directed the early B&S videos) collaborated for a show at Glasgow School of Art. A degree show fundraiser for Stuart's sister Karla Black - who received a Turner Prize nomination in 2011- the performance was a multi-media affair incorporating TVs, super 8 film, 35mm slides and kinetic sculptures. Since nothing broke down and everyone clapped, they decided to keep doing it.

Looper have recorded four albums to date, 'Up A Tree'. 'The Geometrid', 'The Snare' and 'Offgrid:Offline' as well as numerous singles and EPs.

Solid Steel in association with Serato (21st December) The votes are in and it's been a tight contest, but the Solid Steel Mix of the Year 2012 as voted by the listeners, goes to Banks and his mix from October. We take another listen to part of his mix and first up it's his transformation of The Keeper by Bonobo and then onto Deco Child, the excellent Anti-Pop Consortium remixed by Four Tet, before dropping his second remix which is a sublime rework of 'Lost where I belong' by Andreya Triana. The mix continues to flow with Modeselektor, Orbital from '94, Lusine and the collaboration between Four Tet, Burial and Thom Yorke. 
DJ Irk sets us up for Xmas with a few seasonal snippets, alongside music from Kraddy, Q-Tip, Method Man and Koan Sound, plus classics from Al Green and the Beastie Boys.

Solid Steel (22nd February) DK starts with a few current gems leading with the huge Romare track 'Your love', new music from Ty and the stunning single from James Blake, plus Machinedrum remixing Guilty Simpson and a classic Donald Byrd production for The Blackbyrds.
Then we welcome Joe Acheson (aka Hidden Orchestra) with his latest mix celebrating the release of the single 'Fourth Wall' from the  'Archipelago' album on Tru Thoughts. Like previous mixes it features all the variety of music that Joe has been listening to in the last year or so, much of which he has added to, mashed up or remixed, with lots of spoken word and field recordings. One of the themes is sleep, or the lack of it - and there's a strong theme of imagined live collaborations - Kelpe with Thom Yorke, Ivor Cutler and Johnny Cash trading verses over Jan Johansson's piano with added beats, Four Tet and Neil Cowley, Steve Reich with vocals from John Lennon and Finsta Bundy…

Solid Steel (15th March) 25 years of Solid Steel continues and this week we start with a mix from Om Unit who featured on the show a few years ago, but under a different guise and also had a winning entry in the Solid Steel Intro competition from way back. A forward thinking producer who's music has featured many times, either as Om Unit, alter ego Philip D Kick or his collaboration with new Ninja signing Machinedrum as Dream Continuum.
Music in the mix includes Danny Scrilla, Phaeleh, Alego, Om Unit alongside Sam Binga and the premiere of his collaboration with Fracture. Heavy. In our 25th Anniversary slot, we welcome back Fink, who has appeared many times on Solid Steel dating back to 1999. We asked for something a little different and taking a brief break from the studio in LA where he's demoing up the new Fink album, he delivers us 30 minutes of 'avant-bard-core for the ear waves'. It's music from The Horrors, Bjork, Fever Ray and House of Black Lanterns, with a couple of remixes courtesy of 16 Bit and Scuba.
