"Dublin born DJ and Producer Mark Davis aka darkmavis has been lucky to experience a lifelong obsession with dance music. This obsession naturally led him to his artistic path he's been on for the past number of years. He can also be found curating his beloved platform 'Ethereal Skies', a forward-thinking label, party and platform dedicated to unearthing avant-garde, hard and euphoric dance music and also as a core team member and Resident DJ of London’s Joyride, a queer kink party merging the worlds of rave culture and kink culture. 

Mark's sound is made up of a range of genres crafted by years of digging. Predominantly consisting of trance and progressive, you can find slivers of techno, hardcore, hard house, ambient and even avant garde electronic in there too. His sound juxtaposes eras in rave culture and he strives to weave together the oldskool with the contemporary takes on electronic music within his sets. 

His career so far is complemented by wide variety of independent releases and mix/radio appearances, which can be heard on platforms such Rinse, Balamii, HÖR, Goddezz, Pocket Radio and more. 

He has spent the past few years as ever-present figure within the Dublin and London Dance Music scenes, frequenting a range of the best parties and venues out there such as Teletech, Pornceptual, Rathaus, Dalston Superstore, Joyride, Slither, Index and more. As well as this performing at all of the major Irish festivals such as Electric Picnic, All Together Now and Fuinneamh. 

He has shared line ups with some of the most innovative artists in electronic music such as Evian Christ, Gabber Eleganza, Yazzus, Varg2tm, Schacke, Namasenda, JamesJamesJames, Dark0, DJ Paypal, Chippy Nonstop and much much more. 

This dedication to his craft of DJing, producing and promoting leaves Mark in a workflow whereby he is constantly evolving on all fronts. A true genre-fluid DJ but trance specialist that has accumulated such a rich and vast library over the years with the ability to perform sets transcending time, space and pace while keeping his signature sounding place. You can expect precision in darkmavis' sets, a true tastemaker, taking you on a sonic trip through his library and skills."

Aaja is a multi-purpose community radio station, event space and bar. Situated along Deptford High Street, the local cultural hub hosts an eclectic mix of radio hosts, DJs and events. Open since 2018, Aaja has provided a space that has nurtured and aided the growth of creative minds and groups within South-East London and beyond.
