Orson Records kick off 2021 with the in-form, Dublin based artist Cignol. The A1 is a groove ridden electro workout, which features an unmistakable Cignol acid line. The A2 showcases the first insight into Transparent Sound’s 2021 output; a stripped back remix which retains his signature style. 

The B1 offers more groove ridden electro, this time featuring an unforgettable melody alongside lucious pads. The B2 features a rough and ready electro cut, with a mean acid line penetrating throughout.

This Sunday we warmly welcome Dublin-based 4MN to the series, who has carefully crafted a seamless mix of hardcore club music with a UK feel. Heavy duty breaks, bass, dub and jungle feature from artists such as Henry Greenleaf, Sputnik One, Two shell and Flørist. 

4MN runs Bangers and Mash tunes page which consistently shares sensational music and content from the electronic community. Also part of the Pruca collective, who are expecting to release their debut EP soon,  we can only hope to catch 4MN annihilating a dance floor with his mega selections some time soon.

We are happy to welcome our talented buddy Fufi.SNC on the label. Hailing from Ingolstadt, a city one hour away from Munich, Fufi is no stranger to the scene and was on our radar for quite some time now. He is one third of the ever amazing SNC crew, a party and label collective, and has been impressing us with his breakbeat-heavy analog live sets over the past years. After his debut EP on Marlon Hoffstadt’s „Savour The Moment“ label in 2020 he joins the Slam City Jams family with the „Monsterra Mansion“ EP.

We are starting things off with „Back Strike“, a breakbeat monster full of irresistible rave stabs, heavy sub bass and a beautiful crying acid line. Next up you find the hidden hit of this EP: „Raves On Sundays“ featuring the mysterious DJ Kolibri. A tune full of tension, that keeps on building up with a dramatic 303 melody you won’t get out of your head for some time. On the flip we have „Running Home“ - a super deep acid breakbeat affair for the late hours (even though this probably means 10pm these days). Finally the EP is rounded off by the title track: „Monsterra Mansion“ is a stripped back up-tempo four to the floor jam, with a grooving bass and dreamy chords that fans of Roza Terenzi will love. Fufi.SNC treats us with four dope tunes written in times of isolation, but made for days were we all meet again on the floor.

Melbourne’s Mitchell Gee has worked tirelessly to refine his skills as a DJ. Proclaiming to be bringing back the “tech grouse” into tech house, Mitchell’s experience as a selector and Dance Flaws party runner has led him towards a percussive house sound that looks to push the nostalgic sounds of the 90s. Recently, he also used the difficult lockdown period to start up the Tangle Agency, a booking firm looking after acts like Francis Inferno Orchestra and Donald's House. On this mix, he showcases his preference for proper house that always keeps you engaged.

Freaky on the Dance Floor

Dance Petrol Records ignites its engines with "Selected Fuels 05," the latest instalment in a compilation series dedicated to propelling house music's endless voyage. This collection operates as a curated manifest, loading talents like Etur Usheo, Luise, Samy B, Sample Samurai, and So.undso, just to name a few, onto a unified vessel destined for the dancefloor. Their collective cargo spans a rich geography: the humid, bass-driven foundations of early house, the soaring electrical storms of rave heritage, and the meticulous, subtle landscapes of minimal sound design.
